Are there any dedicated 2 bedrooms at BWV?

Could someone please clarify if there are any dedicated 2 bedroom villas at BWV? We are a family of 6 with small children (including a sleepwalker!) and need to know if the 2 bedrooms consist of the 1 bedroom units with a studio. I need to know this before going further on a resale. (I picture my little one roaming the halls while I am sleeping!)
Thanks to all for taking time to help all of us newcomers to this fantastic forum!

No 2 BR units, all BWV units are 1 BR and a studio. There are some dedicated studios, and 1 BR but no 2 BR. Also 7 Grand Villas

Doc will know for certain, but my answer is "no", they are all studios combined with 1BR at BWV. OKW has dedicated 2BR, all with 2 queen beds in the second BR, and the other resorts as well have a certain percent which are dedicated 2BR.

I feel your fear! ;)

We had 2 little ones and added a third shortly after buying at BWV. We just wanted into DVC, and naive souls that we were, didn't know anything about "resale". That was in '99. THis summer will mark our first trip to our real "home" (BWV) -- up until now, we have stayed in either OKW or VWL dedicated 2brs, for the same reasons you describe (we have a night roamer too, not to mention fact they may get the intentional urge to roam by day when we aren't looking! Yikes!)

We're giving BWV a try this time because we are taking BIL/SIL with us and actually plan for them and their son to use the studio side, while DH, me and dd use the MB, and our two boys use the sleeper sofa. One thing we keep reminding ourselves of, though -- this too shall pass. In 10 yrs, we may be glad that extra door is there, so that the teens don't have to disturb everyone else as they come and go! And maybe a few rs past that DH and I can finally take a few trips sans kids... THAT would be different. It's sometimes hard to keep in perspective that we will have this membership for so many yrs yet to come!

It should be possible to arrange things so thas younger kids are VERY unlikely to get out. Simply use the privacy latch and bolt the door. Even with the dedicated 2 BR, it's not failsafe as they could always go out the main door when you weren't looking or were asleep.

I just found out from member services that BWV has no dedicated 2 bedrooms. We also are a family of six. I have stayed in a non Disney lock-off and my biggest problem is I couldn't hear the kids too well when we were in the bedroom and they were in the lock-off. So on my upcoming trip I have a two bedroom dedicated at VWL. She just happened to mention the lock-offs at BWV. Funny thing we almost bought at BWV, we were never told it was lock-offs only, we just happened to change our minds and purchase at WLV because of it's close proximity to the MK. (We spend most of our time there). Not that I wouldn't stay at a lock-off unit, as long as my mom comes or when my kids are a little older. But that's only my experience. And I'm sure plenty of families stay in them with no problems at all.

There was a thread a few months back about kids escaping from the second bedroom. I thought the latch would be too high for them to reach. However, when we were at BWV last month I was surprised to noticed it really isn't that high, not as high as the ones at OKW (1 bedroom). Why wouldn't they put them higher? It wasn't a handicapped room.

Funny you should say that -- I too feel the handles / locks at BWV are lower. We were staying at VWL but were visiting BWV one day, and after a walk on the BW, decided to visit the DVC office to refresh our memories of the layout of a BWV 2br, then cruise over to BCV and do the same (part of our trip ritual, and to help plan for our next trip!) Well, in the BWV this was something I spotted immediately -- the lower handles, light switches even -- and asked the CM if we were in an HA room. No, she assured me, we weren't. I pointed out the switches and locks, she said, "Oh they're all that way." I assured her that we were in a VWL 2br and the switches were NOT that low, or our room would be blinking like a disco every night from my lights-fascinated "I Can Do It!" 2yr old! When we went to BCV, they were not that low.

That said, the CM did tell me that many folks express concern over that "extra door" in the 2br. Suggestions they give are to put the pack-n-play in front of the door (or some similar immovable). Don't think I would personally want the pack-n-play by the door if my kid was in it (hall noise), but I suppose a heavy suitcase or chair could work. She said one person actually duct-taped over the lock, but they also pulled off paint when they removed it and left a sticky mess, so she didn't advocate THAT! Some folks bring their own electronic door alarms (after all, a determined child can get out of a 1 br or dedicated 2 br too!) And she also recommended that if you DO "bar the door", put the "do not disturb" sign on the outside door so housekeeping doesn't try to use that door (or move your stuff on the day of your cleanings).

My brother suggests fuzzy sleepers and velcro sheets. To each his own!
