Are there any cocktail packages onboard?

A few of our friends and family recently cruised on Princess and some other cruise liner other than Disney and said that they bought a alcohol/cocktail package where for a set price for example $300 they could have unlimited amount of cocktails on board and there was no restriction as to what type of cocktail (wine, beer, mixed drinks etc). Last time we were on the FAntasy last year we bought the Skyline drink package where for a set price we could have a few martinis in that bar. But the issue was that we had to have the drinks at the Skyline and had to choose from a specific list of their drinks. We are looking for something a little less restrictive.

Nothing right now, but there are some people that feel DCL will introduce some drink packages like other cruise lines now that they've eliminated carry on liquor and put restrictions on the amount of beer and wine that can be carried aboard.

If liquor is the root of all evil, then DCL better stop offering the tasting classes. They sell plenty of liquor on the ships, and want to sell more which is why liquor is no longer allowed to be carried on. I think that if DCL believes it can improve its bottom line with drink packages, then we will see drink packages introduced.

No drink packages. Soda IS free from the machines on deck 9 or in the restaurants. There is a wine package where you get a bottl of wine every day. There are several to choose from. We always use ours at dinner. And there are buckets of beer you can buy, but we are not beer drinkers.

For example I have this "friend" who sure does like to have a tasty beverage or more, would it be safe to assume DCL would continue to server my "friend" alcohol all day as along has he could stand and was not causing any trouble.

yes we are aware of these packages but these are only for beer and wine drinkers and the only other one is the one at the Skyline bar but then again it's for just the martini specials they have on the menu and you get a handful of drinks. On other cruise liners you can pay $200-$300 and can get unlimited cocktails, wine, beer etc. of your choice during your cruise.

I swear this not for me....I swear!

Bartenders have the right to cut someone off if they feel the person is too intoxicated. It is a huge liability issue if the bartenders continue to serve someone and they later harm themselves or others as a result of intoxication. That said, if your "friend" can handle his drinks and can drink all day without getting obviously drunk, then bartenders would continue to serve him. I'm sure they handle someone who paces their drinking throughout the day much differently than someone who is slamming drink after drink in a short period of time.

Not that I've heard which is pretty disappointing for me. There's always booking multiple tastings one after the other. I've done that. Boy, is it FUN! LOL!
