Are there any "bad" MK views from the Contemporary?

We booked 2 MK view rooms at CR. Are there any "bad" views of the MK like you hear of at other resorts such as trees or railings, not being high enough, ect? Is there any special requests we should make to avoid these problems. We are just staying in the standard MKV rooms, not atrium club.

My family and I have had a Magic Kingdom view as low as the 6th floor and as high as the 14th floor and in my opinon we don't see a difference. Some may say the high floor the better, so you will get different views on this subject.

We had a standard room in the tower - the side which does not face the lake.
We were on the 6th floor with Chef Mickeys directly below us and about 4 rooms away from the elevator.
From the bathroom, you could hear the Chef Mickey song when it played.
But you could not hear the song by the beds.
From our balcony, if you looked down, you saw the roof of the convetion center and the front driveway of the CR.

BUT.... when you looked straight across from our balcony, you saw MK, the monorail and fireworks at night.

The rooms at CR are wonderful. They are very spacious and the daybed is a plus. The pools at CR are enjoyable for all ages. The pool slide is not themed, but did entertain our kids.
You can rent water craft at the marina and girls can get their hair beaded.
Cr had the best arcade (with prizes) - but I know there are renovations going on at the CR - so I do not know if the large arcade still exists at the food and fun center.

Chef Mickeys is a fun place to eat.
Having the monorail right in your building a a plus.

You made the right choice to stay at the CR.
Enjoy :thumbsup2

We stayed on a high floor at the CR and loved it. Check out my trip report for more details on our room and some pictures.

I'd put in a request for a high floor, but all the views are WONDERFUL!!!!!!

I loved our view from the 6th floor... Honestly, below us was parking and the convention center, etc, but when you have the castle off your balcony... who's looking down?

I second those who have said that higher is better. If you are a light sleeper, the further away your room is from Chef Mickey's and the 4th floor concourse the better, as that gets a little noisy and can disrupt your sleep. Also, while you will still get a great view from the lower floors, it is easier to ignore the parking lot and driveway as you get higher (also its harder to hear it).

That said, a 6th floor MK view room is still a better view than almost any room on WDW property.

No, there are no bad rooms on the Magic Kingdom side. Every room is going to overlook the parking lot, driveway, and convention center; it's what's beyond that that matters; nothing in this world beats waking up to Cinderella Castle right outside your room (ask for an odd numbered room as those have the beds facing the castle and you can watch it change colours from your bed). I have heard that some people have been disturbed by the noise from Chef Mickey's on that end of the hotel, but if you really think it's going to be a problem, ask for a room on the other end.

I stayed in a Contemporary tower room a few years ago and loved it. My room was on an upper floor at the Chef Mickey's end of the building. My only complaint was about the food smell from Chef Mickey's - not only could we smell it in the hallway leading to our room, but we could smell it IN our room as well. At first it wasn't bad, but it got to be unpleasant especially during the morning hours (breakfast) and evening (dinner).

Aside from that, we liked the room and loved the view of MK, the Water Pageant and the fireworks.

Believe it or not but my family and I don't mind the rooms which are right by Chef Mickey's, because we love to hear what's going on while we are inside our room.
