Are there any autotrain discounts for this summer?

I believe the last 2 summers Amtrak offered discounts for kids traveling on the autotrain. Does anyone know of any for this summer? TIA

I have not seen any yet, but there is always a AAA discount.

I don't know about that, but you can get an Orlando Magicard discount that's 20% off. Just google that and it should take you to the website.

I was able to combine it with the AAA discount.

Yes, there is a "Kids ride free on the AutoTrain" discount for the summer. If you check AMTRAK's website, it is listed there. Code is H717. Booking must be between April 15 and July 15 with travel between June 1 and September 30.

Last year I could use both. Maybe it's just the agent you get. I'll definately re-check that when I do finally make my ressies.

It must be! The agent I spoke with worked really hard to get me the best deal and she spent a lot of time on the computer working the numbers. She even talked me into taking my DH's car instead of my SUV for a $300 savings. It was like her personal mission!

So, if at first you don't succeed... try another agent

That sounds like the lady I booked with last year. This time I spoke to a Man and he said it couldn't be done. I'll just keep trying back till I get that dear lady.
