Our friends are going to Florida for the first time and want to see some alligators. If there aren't any at AK then they want to go to Gatorland.

Anyone know? We've been there but I can't remember.

Thanks!

I think there are some on the Kilimanjaro safari, but they could have been crocodiles.

I vote for a trip to Gatorland!!!! That place is great for seeing alligators. Be sure to stay for the show where they jump for chickens.

Unforunately for the alligators, they are all over WDW. Including near the YC/BC in the lake. In the water by Tom Sawyer's Island, golf courses. When they get to a certain size, they are "removed" by Disney. However, I have heard that if you want to get "up close and personal" Gatorland is the way to go.

Isn't there an American Alligator near Primeval Whirl?

My family has told me for I am scared to death of gators.

I suppose one COULD get there. But it would have a pretty long walk over asphault and through the rest of Dinoland USA.

There is no reason to be afraid of alligators while at WDW. Just avoid swimming in ponds.

Its florida, gators are everywhere. I have only seen one on disney property, by Tom Sawyer Island.

Yes, there is a gator in a pond in Dinoland. (presumably placed there intentionally, as there's a sign describing the American Aligator)

As long you don't swim there, there is no reason to be afraid.

I like seeing the ones in the Land attraction at Epcot but we have also seen the Tom Sawyer Island ones. I thought those were just another part of the Disney magic and plastic. Not unless the Imagineers have figured out some awesome new animatronics because they swim and move. :)

There are "free" alligators on Disney properties because it's, well, it's Florida. However there is one "attraction" alligator in a nice pond close to Dinosaur in AK. There are also Nile crocodiles, as others have mentioned, on the KS ride. But if you really want to see 'gators - Gatorland is the way to go.

There used to be one in the water behind Yacht and Beach, don't know if he's still there; also, over at CBR; and DH has seen many on the golf courses, most notably the Palm.

I don't know if any of the gators are still in the park. Like it was said before the gators are allowed to stay on property until they reach a certain size. This is actually a Florida law. The only reason that they would remove a smaller gator is if it is becoming a neusance(sp) with the guests otherwise they have to let them stay.

You can also see some gators in the lobby of the Gaylord Palms resort hotel.
Yes, Kilimanjaro Safaris has Nile Crocodiles, and in Dinoland the is one, very large, American Alligator. I've seen wild alligators all across WDW property, including in the waterways at the golf courses
