Are The Villas at Grand Californian spread out

throughout the resort or are they in a separate building, in one of the buildings (which one?)

I keep looking at the massive resort map and simply cannot find where they are located.

They are located on one area of the hotel between california adventure and the mariposa pool. It is a little wing with 6 floors, all dvc. It should be at the very bottom of the map lying horizontally.

They are all together in a very small wing. See this post for great maps. On the first map, you can see a cluster of bigger units (left hand side towards the bottom). Further down are more detailed maps by floor.

I recently stayed there and they're in a separate building. It doesn't have a fancy name like the other buildings do. It's just Villas at Disney's Grand Floridan Resort & Spa.

Wrong resort... at the Grand Californian it is all the same building as the hotel.

I think what may throw people is they're not really "villa's".

The inside of them are villas. But there are only like 42 combinations total. That's usually why you can't get a room there anymore.

Also, the VGC have their own bank of elevators and it's not a very long walk to any of the rooms from the elevators.
