We left an additional $5 at all of our TS meals except for concourse steakhouse d/t numberous issues. We left $10 at wolfgang pucks since they only get 18% of what disney gives per person which was not nearly even 15% of our bill plus he provided us with great service. All the servers took the cash and seemed to really appreciate it. Our waiter at Chef Mickey's told us he got a 18% tip already and we told him we understood that but appreciated the excellent service. He was most appreciative.

As for the CRT meal- It is not to late to call and complain. I can guarentee you were not the first and will not be the last to be treated that way. I would call the manager. They cannot fix things if they don't know about them.

I took my niece to the Cinderella Breakfast in June. We prepaid when making the reservation. We did not get a bill, so I asked the waitress if everything was prepaid, including her gratuity. She said, yes, you're all set, thanks for asking.

There are a lot of servers getting additional tips on the plan. I talked with one who works at the Crystal Palace and he made like 70k - 80K last year.

well if servers at the CP, a buffet make that much I think I better get a job there. I have heard many people don't tip at a buffet which I think is being cheap, but on the dining plan the tip is included but taxes are paid on tips and other people get tipped out of that so i find that figure hard to believe at CP, but maybe some other places .yes I hear in las vegas and NY that they can make that. but at the buffet restaurants? any servers out there want to comment

Ok DH enlightened me since he was once a server. DH, Myself and DS easily hit over $100 for each TS. Say a server has 6 tables and they turn them over 3 times a night. that would be $180 a night that they would make from tips if they are given 10% gratuities (from the dining plan). I think they get an hourly wage too. Granted it may not be too much but making $1000 a week being a server is pretty good if you ask me.

Forgive me if my math is off.

I don't know about disney but nj a server's hourly is $2.13 an hour so their paycheck is void because it goes to taxes and most of the restaurants here are only allowed 3-4 tables not 6. some people sit 2 hours or more. when I was at canada's le celliar[spelling] the hostess said the computer shows exactly how long each table was seated and over 10 of them were over 2 hours. my wait was 50 minutes last sunday with a PS time I asked why the wait was so long and she gave me that info.

Easy solution to that: "You aren't getting anything? How outrageous. Your service wasn't that poor. Let's go upstairs and talk to your manager about that right now. I'll make sure you get a fair amount from the Dining Plan for your work. Let's go..." For me, I'd be utterly sincere, truly, though in the back of my mind I know that the server was lying. However, if she called me on it, I would do it, and follow-through on what I promised her, though I suspect that in doing so it would probably expose such outrageous deception on her part that her manager would have no choice but to fire her. :(

You are very simialr to me, this is the dort of thing I would do, fain suprise that it was prepaid or on DDP and that she was getting nothing and ask to see the manager about it straight away.

For good service we gave extra on top of the DDP when we were there.

WOW- My mom was really concerned that the servers were not getting tipped- I showed her the receipts. When service was great we would leave an additional $5-$10 and tell manager how great everything was.

I hope servers get their share of the included gratuity!

At Crystal Palace character breakfast and at San Angel Inn for dinner. Both times the service was exceptional and we also told the Manager it was and gave names.

just FYI, this happened to us at several places.

We usually have some stuff on OOP while we ate on the DDP. Normally you get 2 receipts - not a problem. When we went last week, at some places the OOP receipt already had the 18% gratuity on it! Good thing we checked because I'd hate to pay another 20% on top of that.

Just a PSA: check your OOP bill when you're on DDP.

This was how it was handled when DD and I attended CRT in April. No money exchanged hands at all since it was pre-paid. I had no cash with me, and asked our server to be sure. I would have given my debit it card for the tip if it had not been included, but she gracioulsy said - it was all taken care of.

Since we are a party of two, and rarely high maintenance for our servers, I felt the 18% that was included was sufficient for that meal.

It is standard practice for tables where anyone is using the Dining Plan for all cash bills to have an 18% gratuity already included.
