Are the Refillable Mugs still easy to use (after reopening)?

We are considering going to WDW in September and are wondering if we should purchase the refillable mug. I read before that now a Cast Member has to fill up a paper cup for you and then you either drink out of that cup or you pour it into your refillable mug. Is this still true? And if so, is it easy enough? Are there enough Cast Members so there isn't a long line of people at one drink station?

I really enjoy using the drink mug (because I love my soda) and I know they have to take extra precautions after reopening, but I don't want to buy a mug if it isn't going to be a simple process.

We were there last week. We stayed at Poly and BLT. There was never a wait to fill cups at Captain Cooks. Sometimes there was a few minute wait at Contempo. When the line got long they would send more people out to fill cups. We got the Star Wars insulated mug. It was $10 more but was worth it. Our drinks stays cold and ice barely melted. We went resort hopping and bought them with us. We filed them up at several resorts.

Is it free refills for the duration of your stay or each day? I'm wondering how they actually work that out...

I usually use my mug in the mornings for coffee. How is that working? Do they fill it or give me a cup and some creamer?

They will put it in paper cup and you can request cream and sugar. They will give you packets.

Are they actually filling your mug or just giving you a drink in a cup?

So do they touch your mug at all or do you just scan it and they hand you your choice of beverage in a cup?
