Are the Passholder rates a good deal?

For our December 2010 reservations we got a Bounceback rate for a Standard Club Level Room at the Boardwalk. Now since I also have an Annual Pass I decided to check the AP rates for our dates during that month, well I was a bit surprised to see that our Bounceback rate for the Boardwalk was a bit cheaper then what the AP rates are. So the question is should a Deluxe Club Level Room become available at the Boardwalk with the AP rate (as of right now it's not available) is it really worth it since the AP rate is more expensive then the Bounceback rate?

What do you get by going from CL to deluxe CL at that resort? And what do you project that cost difference might be?

I paid close attention to our trip habits during our August trip and we're just not ready to slow down enough to make CL worth it but if it does make sense for your family then deluxe CL might be a nice splurge.

At the Boardwalk a Deluxe Club Level Room is a bigger room then the Standard Club Level Room, with a sitting area and a 2nd TV. Besides that it also comes with a guaranteed view of the Boardwalk/water area.

Now I am assuming the cost with the AP discount would be more expensive because as I already said our Standard Club Level Room is a bit more with the AP rate, compared to what were paying with the Bounceback rate we just got.

It's always so nice to go up to the next level. When the AP discount is announced you could make the decision at that time. Our tv was on for a total of about 20 minutes during our trip so that wouldn't sway me but the sitting room would be ideal for reading and coffee in the morning. And for the bit of time we were in our room at CR, having a Bay Lake view was cool so the guaranteed water view is significant. Make sure to let us know what you decide!

Well as of right now with the AP rate or the current room only deal the Boardwalk Deluxe Room is not available, however I am still happy with our current Standard Club Level Room we got for this December. Still it was nice having the view of the Boardwalk/water and would be the main reason we would make that change.

We did the deluxe club level room in July with an AP rate. It was like $348 per night.

I think it depends who you're traveling with and how much time you think you'll be in the room, to see if it would be worth it. We went with two teenagers in the heat of summer, so we spent the late afternoons usually relaxing in the room and we loved the extra space. Our room was also across from the lounge, so that was so awesome to just run out and grab a drink or a snack fast.

Here's some pictures, not really my best work, but you'll get the idea! :thumbsup2

Wow! Great photos! Do you know what the % off was for July? I am planning a trip for June 2011, and I am not sure what to expect for a possible discount. We need 2 rooms, so what we are able to afford will depend on the discounts. I know that it is impossible to predict, but I am just playing aorund with different scenarios. I would love to book my mom into the club level (and maybe us or maybe not) because she will spend a lot more time at the resort than we will.

Also, I am trying to figure out if it is "worth it" to get an AP for one of us in order to get a better discount on rooms.

Lots of research to do:)

Thanks!!!!

THere is no benefit with an AP discount over the bounceback unless you are buying the dining plan from what I can see. I think the bounceback rates were 45% off for some rooms weren't they? I could be wrong. The AP rates also were a different range than the bounceback as well.

Another thing I noticed with the AP discount for SOME rooms/dates the AP discount isn't given for the weekend dates. NO rhyme or reason for that. It just shows as a different code name online. I was just checking 2 values for the same dates - one gave the discount for the weekend one didn't . I don't recall which they were because I was just checking for someone else but I think it was music and movies (No wkend discount) That could also be the reason.

Right now it's only 5% more than GP rate, so a savings of $9 on a mod during value season.

EDITED: didn't read the whole question. doh! they can be better rates, but not always.

thanks about the pictures. :)

We got 40% off our room. :) I feel that an AP is worth it if you are going to go to Disney more than once in a year. We going to use our AP's for at least 15 days at the parks between our three trips this year, so it works for us. :thumbsup2

WHat exactly is you rate for the bounceback. I checked and there are a few choices at boardwalk at AP.
For nights 1 through 8 the rate is $282.00 and from nights 9 through 14 it's $423.00, however also add in an extra $25.00 since I count as a 3rd adult on our reservation.

297.60 for the first 8 and 433.90 for the rest with AP for 3 adults. Did you get 45 % on the bounceback rate because it doesn't look like the weekends are the issue? Just wondering.

Yes I am sure that's what we got.

I would just keep it then. Not a lot comes up for the AP discount and if it's less you're better off with the bounceback. PLus for some rooms, weekends don't have the AP discount as well. For the Moderates, the discount was the same. We booked CBR with the bounceback starting November 28, but the AP has the 27th included so we rebooked. Just that Sat night is quite high but we really want it so it's not a big deal.

I am 99.9% sure we are going to keep our current reservation. Now I might still look from time to time on the AP website or the other room only deal, but we are still happy with what we got and considering how hard it was to get this reservation we don't want to switch for the 4th time, since we had two other reservations made before.
