What's New in VMK?
In addition to sporting spiffy new green ears, some members of the VMK Staff will soon have a new name. Most Staff names will still begin with the well-known "VMK" prefix, but a few will soon start with "HOST". What's the diff?

VMK Staff members are here to assist Players and make certain VMK stays a safe and secure place for all.
HOST Staff members plan and host games and events. While they can also step in when Player safety and security is involved, their main role is to make sure there are fun and exciting things for Players to do. All Staff members will still wear the green Staff uniforms with those cool green ears -- so you can find them easily.


Hmm....wonder if the new blue ears are for the hosts? This info is now up on the vmk home page news

I was in a room with one of the VMK people yesterday (maybe Mocha ) and someone asked about the blue ears. She said that the blue ears were for the testers. Of course at that point the room was full of requests for people to be instantly made testers.

Anyway, that's what she said yesterday - but we all know that different staff give different answers - so take it for what it's worth.

Yeah I'd really like them to release colored ears for normal players. Black and gold are nice (as well as sorcerer and princess ears) but some colored ears would be cool. Maybe purple for Miakoda

I guess I am in the minority here, but I personally think that this is an absolute FANTASTIC idea! VMK Staff is difficult to spot in a crowd and having the green ears is an easy way for all players to find staff members. I think the blue ears should be for CL's for the same reason.

As far as the "HOST" name issue, I think it is a wonderful idea as well. VMK Staff's time can only be spread so far and I feel this will address both safety and fun issues.

Well I'd agree if the CLs could actually do something. I really wish there were more people monitoring the game who had the authority to give warnings with some meat to them, corrent a bad transaction, etc - whether they are hosts, staff or community leaders.

I agree 100%! First of all, I think CL's should have designated places and times where they are "on duty" so to speak. There are far too many CL's who do absolutely nothing. It would be nice if we were given certain areas to hang around in for some length of time...Not really a "job", but some direction. As for more authority, that could be taken advantage of. More of a direct line to the "powers that be" would be appropriate, I think. Just MHO.

Oh, back on topic! The green ears are awesome! I think they should remain as staff only. Blue ears for CL's? Hmmm I could live with that! Unfortunately, I asked a member of staff about them and was told as far as she knew they were for testers.
