There is a thread posted after the hurricane hit saying that the mosquito's were really bad at Disney. Wondering now that a month has gone by if they are still lots of them around? In all the years I have been going to Disney I have never been bit, hoping to keep that streak going.:goodvibes

Was there Thur-Sunday of Columbus Day weekend, stayed at Poly. I also had a multi-year mosquito free track record at Disney. We did see ONE over our four days - sucker found his way in our room at Poly and we all had fun chasing it down.

I was expecting the worst based on some of those post-Irma threads, but turned out to be a non-issue.

We don't wear bug spray, FWIW.

We got back last Friday. As with every trip we've ever made, never saw a mosquito. And if there was one within 50 miles of Disney, it would have flown over, bitten DGD and then bitten DH, and then bitten DGD again, and she would have gotten whelps the size of half dollars. Both of them have some sort of natural mosquito attractant (where I have a natural repellent) so if they are around, we know it. And there were none. We've never seen one, never gotten a single bite at Disney. Often said I probably don't want to know what they do to treat for them, it works so well it can't be healthy.

Disney is amazing at this, not sure how they do it. It has definitely died down at WDW, now 15 miles East, where i live, is a different situation. Still dealing with mosquitos and huge ants trying to come inside my house

I haven't really noticed them. I was there last weekend and didn't get bit! Plus they had bug spray stations all over the place and I think they've been treating for them.

I just got back last night from our Disney trip with 3 fresh new mosquito bites! However, my husband never gets bit and didn't this trip. I guess it just depends..but there are definitely mosquitoes.

I am super prone to getting mosquito bites and get huge whelps from them, but had never gotten one at Disney until this trip. We were there Oct 6-13. I was bitten 3 times in AK at night while waiting for Rivers of Light to start. But, that was the only time the whole trip. I was glad I had put some hydrocortisone cream in my park bag!

They're not so bad at the parks. The resorts can be a different story. Also mosquitoes tend to be really bad this time of year. I know for Halloween I have to quickly close the door after I've passed out candy
