When we are in the park, my DH often runs for the fast passes with all our cards while we eat lunch or just walk too slow for his taste. Can we take them off so he can use them to get passes?
I think we all know that she meant regular (Legacy) fast pass.![]()

I don't know what the OP meant, since they specifically mentioned MagicBands.
You CAN have your DH go to one of the very few kiosks located in the park to schedule a FP+...if any are still left.

I thought she was asking if her DH could take them off to get FPs, as in hiding them so that the CMs would not see.

Then if she is talking about legacy fast past, why are we telling her "yes, the bands are removable" ? She cannot send her husband ahead of the family to get a legacy fast pass with the bands so what does it matter if they are removable or not.

I was told that I could have fastpass+ and still get regular fastpasses as long as they don't overlap. So do I have to have a card then instead of a magic band?
Should I bother getting magic bands?
We are from Canada and so we usually don't have our cell phones with us but if we need to add passes as the day goes on I guess we will need them so that is a consideration.
We usually like to grab fast passes on the go so we can adapt our plans to park traffic.
I hope that isn't more confusing. I guess I need to decide if the new bands and fastpasses are worth the trouble. Any opinions?
I was told by the CM on the phone today that we could have both at the same time but I realize that may change in time. I know that the FP+ are on the MB but since it replaces my ticket and does the things tickets do I wrongly assumed that it could be used for Legacy FPs.

Yes. You will get a KTTW card at check in as a back up to your Magic Band. If you would like to pull regular FPs you will use the card. You can also have 3 FP+ selections booked in advance.

We loved them. They were so convenient. We used them as room keys, for park entry and FP+ redemption and for meal/merchandise purchases. You will automatically get a set with your resort reservation. It is up to you if you want to use them or go with the KTTW cards instead.

You can't add FP+s with the current testing system, but you can change them. You do not need a cell phone. You can simply go to one of the in-park kiosks to make the changes.

You can still do this with your KTTW card...at least right now. Eventually the FP machines will be going away, but right now you can use them for additional FPs.

Again, we loved the whole system. We scheduled FP+s for later in the day and used the Legacy (paper) FP system in the morning. We only pulled one or two FPs though, as the crowds were very light.
There really is no reason not to get bands and make FP+ selections. Opting out doe not give you any benefit over opting in.

Nothing is on the MB. Everything is linked to your MDEx account. The bands simply have a chip that reads you account in Disney's database. Anything linked to your account (resort stay, FP+ selections, park tickets) is accessible by the band.
