Pretty straight forward, Will the Grand Caymans be open for Christmas cruises? Should I book port excursions?

I sailed on the Fantasy last week and we were told not to rule out Grand Cayman just yet. I booked something just in case.

Unlikely it will be open before ‘22 but book anyway, just in case :)

We are supposed to go to the GC in Feb. What port will they replace with if GC is not open? We already have 3 sea days on a 6 night and don't think CC would be an option from New Orleans.

I'm on the Christmas cruise on the Wonder that is scheduled to stop there (in December). I'm fully expecting that port stop to be changed, seeing as they've already said no cruises will allowed to stop there in December. But, we are now less than 3 weeks from the last date to cancel for no refund, and it's still showing up... Like others have experienced, I'm starting to get really annoyed with Disney's lack of communication.

But, it seems like there's no harm in booking excursions - either the port stop stays and you get the excursion you want, or they cancel the port stop, in which case they also cancel the port excursions.

If you see an excursion you like, book it anyways.

Our January sailing has the Caymans listed, but they replaced Cozumel with Costa Maya. My guess is that they are still playing the waiting game since the ports having a change of heart in opening up isn't all that rare.

Of the four ports in that arc - Cozumel, Costa Maya, Caymans, and Jamaica - three are already up and running. The replacement could be one of them or maybe a sea day - or an earlier sea day and an extra day at CC.

Grand Cayman was on our list for the cruise in less that a week.
We booked excursions. It was about 2 weeks ago that it was finally cancelled, along with Jamaica and Nassau added and the second day at CC.
So not always much notice.
I did not GC was not due to open until the end of Jan.
