Are the beignets at POFQ really that good?

DH loves pastries, especially with powdered sugar. I hope he'll love these!

My family LOVED them. My mom and I would sneak out early while everyone else was asleep and get coffee and beingets. We were very suprised one morning to find my BIL had beat us there. He was put on a strict diet due to high cholesterol so we had to swear not to tell my sister we found him there ;) We can't wait to get back to POFQ for more beingets.

If you've ever had them in New Orleans, then you will probably be disappointed with them. They are full of air and chewy, unlike any beignet I've ever had.

What time does the food court open? I think I'll get up really early one morning to surprise the others with them.

I've never had a New Orleans beignet, but I loved the ones at POFQ. Kind of like a mini elephant ear. Oh and by the way, referring to a previous post, gotta love those "bingets" ... ! :rotfl2:

As soon as I read your post I knew it had to be me  When I type, my fingers are always a few steps ahead of my brain.

We went to Disney one year ago this week. We had beignets the second day we were there and then had them everyday after and sometimes when we came back at night. They were great. We can't wait to have them again.

Above tells about beignets. Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans probably has the best beignets and is a must for DW and I when we are in New Orleans. They are best when served warm. They are tricky to eat because of the powered sugar.

Ok, now since I am convinced. About trying these. What is the fastest way to get these coming from, MGM, or Animal kingdom? I wont have a car, so it will have to be disney transportation? TIA :goodvibes

Do they sell beignets anywhere else on the property.... If not, is it worth it to come from BWV's to PO to get them????

I think they are worth trying once, but I found myself going back to the Mickey waffle the next day.

We enjoyed them when we stayed there. It made a nice breakfast and snack for us almost each day.

As far as I know they are only sold at POFQ

They are good but we did notice that they were a little chewier than the real NO ones. Not bad enough to not get them, but not good enough to send NO regulars flocking back.

Worth trying though if you've never had any

Im with you! If you never had thenm before then they cannot fail to meet past experiences! My son on the other hand helped himself to mine! Very airy, but its a nice idea!

That was EXACTLY what I was going to say. They aren't bad, but they aren't Cafe Du Monde..........

Nothing like getting up before the others and going for coffee, getting a couple beignets and setting outside at the little tables listening to the birds and watching the people coming and going!! I have alot of trouble buying six at a time and getting back to the room with only three!!! :rotfl: They are great!! Will be having them again in 18 days!!!! :cool1: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I always wanted to try them when we stayed there, but the first
morning we got the breakfast croissants. They were so fantastic
that I never got the beignets!
