Are the BCV rooms that face the road

noisy? truth now....

I have seen some of the Epcot/road views and seeing cars drive by really takes away from the escape for me. :confused3

I am hoping we get a courtyard/woods view. :teeth:

ps...do the rooms really go OVER the canal???

Different people see it differently, but to me, they are extremely annoyingly loud. I'm one who loves to spend a lot of time just sitting on my balcony-I've actually been known to ask for an early wake-up call so that I can sit on my balcony for 2 hours and watch the World wake up. It's very annoying sitting on the balcony with cars whizzing by. Even when I'm in my room, I love to leave the balcony door open so that I can hear the happy sounds of people enjoying WDW. Since the one time I overlooked the road and discovered that "This is definitely NOT for me", I always ask for a courtyard view. But I wouldn't be surprised to find others who don't like the courtyard view. I will admit that I had a lovely view of Illuminations past the road, but I've never seen any part of Illuminations from the courtyard view.

I don't care if we see Illuminations...do like a quiet room with out seeing reality. cars on a road...reality. you know? there are only a few studios that face that way....hopefully we can avoid them.

thanks

I do not own at BCV, but we do like going there in May. Last year we had a room that faced the roadway, and I thought it was too noisy to sit out and enjoy the balcony. We did have a view of some of Illuminations. The first year we had a courtyard view and we really enjoyed that.

We leave for BCV in 2 weeks from tonight! I truly do not care what view we get, I hope our 2 studios are somewhat near each other, but I'll take what I can get. I really can't wait to be there!!!

In the room with drapes closed, No, balcony doors open or using the balcony, definitely.

Yes the rooms go over the canal.

I was too tired to care! I didn't hear a thing.

The view was a major let down considering that we had just spend the last 3 nights at the BWV with the Boardwalk View.

We were in room 261 in March and didn't have a problem with the noise at all. Our room wasn't as close to the road as some others and we had some grass and trees between us and the road that somewhat obstructed our view of the cars. I frequently went out in the mornings to eat or call family and didn't have a problem.

I was shocked at how annoying it was. Very loud, and major bummer. Luckily, it was freezing cold, so our balcony time was greatly reduced anyway. If it was any other trip, we would have requested a room change. We love our quiet balcony time, and it is important to us. Heck, we would even take a dumpster view if the dumpster promised to be quiet!!! :teeth:

The view from illuminations for our family far out weighs the noise. It really does not bother us at all. (The noise from a boardwalk view room bothered us much more) BUT, if you don't want to sit on your balcony and see cars on the road, I would ask for a pool or courtyard view.

And yes, the one wing of the building goes right over the canel so you can see the canel from the road side (back of the building) or from the pool side (front of the building).

Both times we stayed at BCV we have been right over the canal but on opposite sides of the building. We were in room 369 last time and had a great view of SSE and Illuminations ....and Epcot Resorts Blvd and the back of Soarin'. Good and bad. You do see more reality. To me the visual impact was more then the noise. We had the view of the bridge over the canal. We also got view a couple pieces of garbage floating all week near the bridge. It was just 2-3 (soda bottle, bag, etc) not a big deal but did detract from the fanatasy. As far as the noise... we could hear a soft thump thump as the cars and trucks went over the junctions for the bridge with the windows and doors closed and the room quiet. This really only bothered DH in the morning. It would wake him up earlier then he would want to on vacation (he does have a hard time sleeping in.) So it's there softly in the background how much it bothers any one person is variable.

Thanks for the honest answers everyone. I will politely ask to not be facing the road if thats where our room ends up being.

;)
