My husband insists that the Baobab trees on the Safari ride are not real. He thinks there is no way these trees would grow there that long. Please help me convince him he is wrong. Or is he?

Thanks.

They are made of concrete.

Your husband is a very sceptical individual, TOT, eggs, trees.

HMMMMMMM.

I think some may be concrete, however, a special I was watching about Animal Kingdom said that a lot of the trees are actually really old Oak trees that had been given a "crew cut." Hope that helps

They are one of the few things on the savannah that are not real. They were made from concrete :thumbsup2

Please stop. This isn't nearly as funny as you seem to think it is. In fact, it isn't funny at all. You seem to derive pleasure from mocking others, but all you're really doing is calling attention to how juvenile you are.

Sez YOU.

This is how they replicated African Acacias not the Baobab.

There is a real baobab tree by Tusker House (found this out on the AK tour).

The real baobob tree in front of Tusker House died a few years ago during a particularly cold winter. They replanted with a different type of tree.

I think I read somewhere that one of them is actually a cell phone tower??

Yes there is a fake tree tower, but not a baobob - it's a tall narrow tree that sticks out like a sore thumb.

Geez the OP has been doing this forever now. I recall the post they did on how AWFUL the mad hatters tea party ride was. :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: :lmao: Bytheblood I posted right after you did that, and I cracked up when I saw it too funny.:lmao:

Well, given that it's highly unlikely that everyone on the safari would simultaneously imagine a baobab tree in the same place, I'm going to say that they most certainly are real, not imagined. Most people have been answering the question of whether or not they're alive, which was never asked on this thread.
