I have never been to an allstars resort, but we were at Disney last weekend so I thought it might be fun to walk around one and see what they are like. My family got to the Allstar Sports around 8pm Saturday night and walked around. I have never stayed at a value resort but have been wanting to try one. Well, the whole place was so loud! What I mean is there were people everywhere with beers in their hands hanging over the balcony, girls walking around in bikinis (I guess coming from the pool), and the guys that were hanging over the balcony were yelling rude remarks that they seemed to like at them. There seemed to be alot of unsupervised teenagers all over the place being very loud. Several rooms were open where you could see in and a couple had streamers hanging from the ceiling. We walked all over that resort. My kids thought the place great, but I'm getting the feeling that being a family with small children that we might not get alot of sleep there. Anyone else have any opinions

I have stayed at all three of the All-Stars and never saw what you described.
In Oct 03 I was there with 7 other family members and we had the quiet pool to ourselves for about 40 minutes before two little girls with their mom came. (Sports) I have seen the main pool at Movies on one trip be very busy. It was in April over spring break/EAster time so everything was very busy. You can hear loud people talking as the walk by your room to get to theirs but it was not like they were in your room.
I wonder if you happen to be there when a group (football/baseball/cheerleaders) of kids were there. On a Sat night might of been the last night for them and they were enjoying it but if you saw guys with beer then they hopefully were old enough to purchase it and they should of behaved better but....
Depending on which All-Star you stay at you could request a building closer to the quiet pool and then it would have less foot traffic so less niose. I have stayed in Movies in the Mighty Ducks building. It was a little walk to the food court but we enjoyed the quiet pool and laundry at that end without a crowd. I like the All-Stars and have stayed 4 times in them and my next trip in May I will try POP Century but I have Sports booked for Sept.
Some people just don't like it and others love it and some will stay to save a few bucks.
I hope you give it a try and if its not what you wanted then you will not stay again but you might be surprised.

Have a good day.

Thanks for responding. I would really like to stay there. My kids absolutely loved the grounds and my husband and I really love the price. It just felt like I was in the middle of some big college party instead of a Disney resort.

I've never stayed at the Sports but have stayed at Movies and Music a few times. Last year during our Christmas trip at the Movies there was a sport competition - I think wrestling - not too sure and there were many, many teens. They were nothing like what you describe! I have always loved the value resorts. I have stayed at others but with a child (10yo now) I will continue at the values because everything is so convenient.

I am just partial to the values, now especially Pop Century. My new favorite place to stay.

My dd, 10, and I were at AllStarMu from 12/12-12/17/04. The PopWarner comps. were at the same time and I was a little nervous as to what I would find when we got there. Well, it was terrific. My room in Jazz, was quieter than my room at the Polynesian. The kids were somewhat noisy but I found them to be pretty well-behaved. They were just enthusiastic. Cheerleaders/dancers going over routines etc. We are going back in August and will be starting our vacation at AllStarMu again. Then over to BWVs. We really liked the AllStars.

I have stayed at the AS three times and never witnessed anything like that. The pool is always hopping, but no more than any other resort. Little ones seem to like ASMo. I really liked it there. We had a great time!

Weve stayed at ASMO 3x now and have never had any excess noise.

We have stayed at ASsports 2 times and never heard any loud noise or saw people acting like you described. Maybe you just happened upon a wild bunch but I dont think its the norm there :D

Thank goodness we were at Pop Century last weekend. The National Cheerleading competition was at WDW the 16th - 19th. I wonder if they were all at the all-stars?

Wow, we have stayed at the all stars dozens of times, and have never seen anything like that.

We love the all stars, much better than the moderates in fact.

Only time I had ever had a noisy time at any of the value resorts was when I had a 1st floor room that opened out into the courtyard which was done up like a football field. Kids would be out there until 9 or 10PM playing football with little footballs bought from the gift shop. I didn't complain about it... they were just having fun on their vacation (even though I was there for a conference!).

You could always ask for a room that didn't face out into a courtyard or pool. We were at Music once with a 2nd floor room which opened out into the Broadway street and it was almost INSANELY quiet there!

My family (me, DW, DD6, DS4) have stayed at AS Sports and AS Music. We had no problem with noise either time. Each time we had a room facing the courtyard. I did notice some teens roaming around both times, but they were not "out of control". I had some concerns about noise prior to us staying there, because we live out in the country and are used to very quiet nights. But those concerns proved to be silly. Noise has never been a problem for us,
I have heard others say that if you are at the All Stars during a youth-oriented event it can be quite loud, but I have no first hand experience with that.

All Stars have never been loud while I was staying there, but during certain times of the year ::yes:: it's Party Central...

Per Tyler over on the Pop Century Thread these large groups will be staying just at the All Star Resorts.

We have stayed at ASMusic twice. Once we were in Calypso right by the pool, and while the pool was pretty full, noise from there was not a problem.

IT IS THE TOILETS

I believe the All Stars have the loudest toilets on the planet. All hours of the night -- a flush here, a flush there -- loud, loud, loud!

We were at Pop Century on January 8th and I thought it was loud. We were in the 60's building, so I think if I go back I will ask for something further away from the action.

The resort was really cool though. Nice huge check-in counter - the place was packed, but I still didn't have to wait in a long line to check in - gotta love that. Everything so nice and clean. We stayed at AllStar Movies on January 16th and noticed a big difference in the cleanliness of the bathrooms. But also thought that it was loud. Although I only have the Polynesian to compare it to, which IMHO is so nice and quiet!

I do think the crazy drinkers were definately not the norm.

Have fun!!

I've never seen quite the behaviour you describe, but one of the main reasons I won't stay there again was the noise level. I don't think I was able to sleep through the night even once of the three times we stayed there.

Cheerleaders practicing in the courtyard at midnight, kids running past the room yelling at 6:30 am, toilets flushing all night. It was loud :(

We stayed at the All Star Sports last August, and I thought it was very loud! I do think it might have had something to do with location though... We stayed in Surf's Up, on the first floor facing the main pool. The location was great when we were hungry (close to food court), and when we went to catch a bus to go out to a park... but when we were ready to get some sleep at the end of a long day, it was annoying to hear tons of people out at the pool having fun. (Not that I want to deny anyone having fun - I was just tired! :o ) I would definitely stay there again, and just request a different building!

I had a second-floor room that faced the main pool once. I was pretty scared as we were walking down the breezeway to our room, because the din was LOUD. Amazingly, once we closed the door, we heard nothing. The soundproofing is miraculous. :)
