Are the AKV Value rooms open for booking yet?

Does anyone know if they are open? When can you start booking them?

They will be open at the beginning of December (this year), but you can definitely book them for stays after that!

They will be open as of Dec 1st. Booking opened in mid June for stays starting Dec 1st or later.

The Value villas are in the area marked in lime green. Possible views are the Sunset Savanna, the pool area or the parking lot. You can request a particular view but it is not guaranteed. These villas are smaller than the other villas at AKV. The 1BRs and 2BRs do not have the sleeper chair so they accommodate 4 and 8 respectively rather than the 5 and 9 for the larger 1BR/2BR villas at AKV.

I can attest that after December they are available to book as we ARE booked in two value studios for end of Feb. 2008.

LisaS, thank you! That was perfect! I imagine I won't get a requested value savannah view if we're checking in at 8:00 at night, but thats okay, we'll still be there. I wonder, the lime green you show on these rooms, will there be more savannah view value rooms as the construction continues or is that it?

I believe that is it. The area marked in pink is Concierge (6th floor) and the rooms below that on the 5th floor that face the Sunset Savanna are the larger rooms so I expect they will be categorized as Savanna View villas.

If I remember correctly, the Value villas break down like this:

Savanna view: 4 2BR lockoffs, 4 dedicated studios
Pool view: 4 2BR lockoffs, 4 dedicated studios
Parking lot view: 2 2BR lockoffs

ETA: The Value villas are "smaller or oddly shaped". The areas I have marked on the map are where the smaller villas are located. If there are indeed some "oddly shaped" villas, then there may be more Value villas than what I have listed above.

Does anyone have information abt the GV's?? Will they only be in Kidani?
We currently were fortunate enough to snag a SV studio...but we are in the pre planning stages of a grand Gathering in June....I would rather do a 2 bdr and 2 studios and save pts...DH likes the GV idea.

In the map I posted above, the orange "blobs" at the end of each hallway mark the 6 GVs in Jambo House. There will also be GVs in Kidani. The Jambo House GVs are all on one level, I believe the Kidani GVs will be 2-story. Here is the floor plan for the Jambo House GVs. I think they look pretty nice except for the way the tub in the master bath sticks out into the middle of the room. I think having to jog around the tub to get to the toilet is going to be a hazard to anyone who gets up in the middle of the night and forgets to make the detour around the tub.

A 2BR lockoff can be rented as a 2BR villa, or can be "locked off" and rented out as a 1BR and a studio. So if MS split up every one of those 2BR lockoffs there would be at most 4 savanna view 1BRs, 4 pool view 1BRs and 2 parking lot view 1BRs.

Based on the floor plans that have been published, I believe that is correct.
