Are Teslas safe in Disney parking lots?

There are only a few chargers, you may or may not get a spot. And.I don't know.if they charge you after you're actively charging (they are 3rd party, and not particularly cheap). I would.think being parked.at one.might draw more attention to the car, if someone was looking for.them. :confused3

All true. Anyway, I'm not going to stop driving my Tesla to Disney (yet.) Hoping for the best.

You and me both! I don't know that I'd drive a Cybertruck there, but I adore my Model 3, and will continue to drive it and hope for the best!

Hmm I'd say at the moment a Disney theme park parking lot might have more security overall than some of these other places people have mentioned. The flipside is that IF someone were to do something it might be hard to identify them even with security/surveillance just based on the size of the parking lots. But I agree that Disney Springs seems like it would be worse.

FWIW in my metro we do have a dealership that did have two cybertrucks that caught fire (one initially that then spread to the second one) that is presently being investigated as suspicious by ATF and the FBI whether it turns out to be what is going on in other states isn't known at the moment.

My ultimate answer is due to the investment of a car at this exact present moment with what has been going on elsewhere if you're worried and with going to Disney's parks an Uber/Lyft is an easy alternative. Would I suggest that for everywhere and for all the future times? No but I can understand the concern at the moment.

If you're really worried about it you could put a magnet on it while parked that says something that would dissuade people from vandalizing it. I've seen several clever ones on teslas in my area. Just leave it on while parked, and remove it to drive around if you're not comfortable with it there all the time.

I wouldn't be worried at Disney. Put the car on sentry mode, of course, and go enjoy your day. I am more concerned when I park at random places around town. There was a gentleman (and I use the term very loosely) that keyed a Tesla in a Costco parking lot not too far from me. He was captured on sentry and the video went viral. Someone even saw the guy in a bank parking lost and confronted him about it. Cops found out who he was and he has been arrested. He's an older guy - probably 70's-80's - wearing a unique and memorable USA jacket - vandalizing an american made car while driving a foreign made car. It's just ridiculous. I'd love to watch him write the check to the Tesla owner to get her car fixed.

Biggest issues with this is insurance companies are not going to insure Teslas due to the high amount of vandalism.

I own a Tesla. I never considered that to be a political statement. I just really like the car.

I'm also a passholder and visit Disney a lot. Keyed paint is unsightly and costly to fix.

Serious question: should I be worried that someone might intentionally damage my car while I'm parked on Disney property?
When are you going? If it is in more than a week I wouldn't worry about it. In the next few days several people involved in attacks at dealerships are most likely going to be charged as domestic terrorists. This should stop the rest of the gutless losers from messing with Teslas any more.

Yes, I do also worry somewhat about the grocery store and mall, lately. Those places, and the local resorts (Disney and Universal) are all we visit, lately.

But, Disney is kind of unique compared to our local grocery stores and malls. My daughter and I often play a game counting all of the various out-of-state license plates in Disney's parking lots: it's really quite remarkable how many there are! Canadian, too.

Just trying to be real, here: I'm not aware of any Floridian Tesla showroom getting vandalized (or worse) recently. But I've seen the news, and it's been happening elsewhere. I am concerned that Disney is potentially more likely to have a guest looking to damage my car than my local Publix just based on the number of out-of-state license plates given what I've seen in the news.

I'd be very happy if my fears are 100% unfounded. I also have faith in the basic goodness of my fellow Disney guests. But I've also seen videos of guest misbehavior, so there's that...

PS, we only have one car, so we'd have to Uber. Or maybe park at Disney Springs, if the enclosed parking lot is safer.
I can't guarantee that nothing would happen, heck it could happen even without the current political situation. I couldn't tell what you were implying. I think you might be implying that you are from Canada. Maybe that was just from the working (bolded above). What I can tell you is that most people that live in this country do not support the current rhetoric that is being spewed from Washington. We are mostly civilized enough to know that Canada didn't start this problem.

My wife was Canadian and I have many friends and relatives in Canada. We are not out to harm you anymore than you were out to harm us. That said, in the state of Florida, I cannot guarantee that your Tesla would be safe. If your reference means you are concern that some Canadian might do damage to your car, I highly doubt that. That is an American trait not a Canadian one. However, if you are concerned one must pay attention to reality, being that a public parking lot is outside of a Magic Theme Park and like it was said before, if you are really worried about it don't take the Tesla.

Hi, no, we're just amazed how far people are willing to drive to come here. We also see license plates from California, but that's not as amazing because we actually drove here when we relocated from SoCal. It took us a few months to get Florida plates after relocating.

It's a game my daughter and I play: we try to spot the cars with the most "unlikely" license plates, and then maybe come up with a "funny backstory" how they got here. Just something to pass the time while making the long walk to the trams and/or gate.

Don't forget rental cars don't always have plates associated with where they're rented from. Just because one gets a car at MCO (for example), the plate could be from California.

Really? I won't tell my daughter that...

OT but amazing me how many people don't know that most states require you to get license plates in a VERY short time frame. 10 days in Florida after you move into a residence, start working, or enrolling a child in public school as the tests they apply.
I worked in an industry where we frequently hired people from out of state and many just assumed they had until the registration sticker on whatever state they came from expired.

We relocated during the pandemic. I think they cut us some slack LOL. We were Disneyland passholders before the pandemic.

I'd maybe be worrying more about my Tesla if I was still visiting Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm every week, but who knows?

DH and I do the same. My first-ever Hawaii plate was just outside WDW. I was SO excited! Saskatchewan was another fun one. We occasionally see plates from Mexico, as well. I'm always trying to get all 50 states on a trip (driving down I-75 helps a lot!).

Come to MN and the Mall of America. Many years ago I was able to get all 50 states and all 10 Canadian provinces in one day.

I don't get this protest. Elon doesn't own the cars being burned. Hard working individuals own the cars are and are the ones being hurt. And in some cases, they will got out and buy a replacement Tesla, so Elon wins,
