I recall reading some recent threads where posters weren't allowed shakes or smoothies as part of the DDP as their drink. Are they still included? What about for kids? TIA!
It depends on the restaurant. We were allowed smoothies or shakes at Kona and LeCellier, but the remainder of our TS meals were very clear that only juice, milk and fountain drinks were included with the plan.
The best bet is to let your server know you are on the DDP as soon as you are seated and ask if there are any exclusions. Most like you to "run up your bill" as long as it's allowed since it gives them a bigger tip in the end, so they are more than willing to help.
For resturants that said no to the shake/smoothie as a drink we could usually have it for desert instead. Worked out great for our son- 11 since he loves a shake but is not much interested in desert.
We were allowed shakes at Sci Fi and Whispering Canyon (bottomless). And we were allowed smoothies at Le Cellier. I was also allowed a non-alcoholic strawberry daquiri at 'Ohana that was soooo yummy! And the waitress gave me a free coke when I was done.
But last ear at some of those places we were not allowed them, so not only does it depend on the restaurant, I think it depends on your server too!
We always asked but the only place we were allowed were at Sci Fi for shakes. We didn't ask at California Grill as we paid out of pocket for the kids and we had wine and ordered virgin margs for the kids but he used those as our drinks for DP and didn't charge extra - which was extremely nice!
suzannews - thanks for that new info. This is OT, but can you please tell me if WCC has switched over to the new kid's menu, and if kids can still get the skillet?

We have not switched over to the new menu yet but there have been a few changes already. No more PBJ or grilled cheese. The kids meals now come with grapes instead of fries and they are pushing 1% milk, juice or a small bottled water as the drink which are not refillable. Fries and soda are available on request but not automatic anymore. Yes the skillet is still available. A cup of watermelon and small kids salad were added as apps.
We were told the new menu is coming though, they are planning before Thanksgiving. Once that starts, we will still have the skillet and maybe one or two other meals like a burger. At that point, I think the skillet would be the best bet, most kids love corn and mashed potatoes and most will eat the chicken or sausage and a rib or two.
Last week we were allowed Smooties at Le Cellier, Concourse Steak House, Mama Mel Rose, but not at 1900 Park Fare and they were the one that told me about it in Aug. I saw people drinking them so I hope it wasn't my server.
