Are Santa's presents wrapped or unwrapped under the tree?

I was just curious what others do. Santa's presents were always unwrapped under the tree when I was growing up. DH's were always wrapped. So far, we (I should say me :) wrap Santa's presents. I'm seriously rethinking this because between the wrapping and then the unwrapping, I'm making a lot of extra work for myself!! Last year DD6 even noticed that Santa used the same wrapping paper one of her cousin's gifts was wrapped in...oops!

So, who's a wrapper and who's not? :sunny:

Yes, Santa always wraps everything, even the stocking stuff!! He also has his own paper with his picture on it. He also only brings "toys". Mom and dad give the clothes or shoes or books and stuff. Admit this has gotten a lot tougher as DS got older but we STILL pretty much do this even thought the Santa talk was years ago!!!!!! DS is 14.

Yes, Santa does wrap.He also wraps all of our stocking stuffer too. Santa's gifts also say "from Santa" for my DD (10yrs old) She always says " thanks mom" She lost ths Santa spirit last year :sad2:

We wrap.

And doesn't everyone meet with Santa to tell him all about your children and to drop off wrapping paper so the the elves don't have to make an extra trip to the store?

Yup! I've got one on the verge of pondering the meaning of Santa.

That's a good one! I need to put that in the excuse bag :)

Santa always wrapped our presents. At DHs house, Santa did not wrap, and only brought one or two presents per kid. We compromise - Santa leaves big things unwrapped, but brings about half of the total gifts. Not that the kids notice anyway.

Santa wraps. Think about all the pictures and movies you've seen with Santa and his bag of gifts; how many of showed the bag full of wrapped gifts? I can't think of any in which the gifts aren't wrapped.

Of course, for a counter argument, it's hard to justify from an environmental perspective. You do all that wrapping so that the wrapping paper can be torn off after being displayed for all of an hour. Seems like quite a waste, espcially from a guy that lives someplace where no trees grow.

How old were your kids before they started to believe that line about Santa not existing? We have a 7 year old that still seems happy to believe in the old guy. He has always been distrustful of the tooth fairy thing though.

My daughter is nine and she is the one questionning. My son will be eleven in January, has Down syndrome, and will believe in Santa forever.

Santa always wraps. Ribbons, bows, the whole nine yards! Santa won't come this year, DD9 is growing up and knows the story, but every gift will be decked out in all the Christmas finery!! It wouldn't feel like Christmas if there wasn't paper flying on Christmas morning. :rotfl2:

Santa wraps at our house. We have to leave the box of wrapping paper out on Christmas Eve so Santa can use his magic to wrap all of the gifts quickly. Santa usually leaves quite a mess that I am completely surprised at in the morning. Snippets of paper, empty rolls on the floor, loose ribbons mixed with cookie crums. I always spend just a few minutes Christmas morning saying to my husband that although we thoroughly love the fat man at our house, I wish he'd clean up after himself a little better.

After Rudolph left some muddy hoof prints in our kitchen three years ago, we had to leave him a note asking him to please wipe his feet if he's going to come in to get his carrots.

(you should've seen my husband trying to make those prints :lmao: )

Growing up Santa always wrapped our gifts. They were also in the same Santa paper for many years, so we knew right away which were from Santa.

Dh never had Santa wrap his gifts. So for our kids Santa does not wrap the gifts under the tree but he does wrap the gifts in the stockings. The stocking gifts are wrapped in the same Santa paper every year. :thumbsup2

That was our compromise with Santa ;)

Yep, Santa wraps in this house, although he doesn't have time to wrap the smaller stuff in the stockings, only the big stuff. part of the fun is flinging the paper around on Xmas morning :goodvibes

We don't do Santa gifts and mom gifts. We just do gifts. :confused3 The only ones that are labeled are the gifts from grandparents, aunts, cousins...

I wrap everything, gift cards, clothes, toys, shoes. :cheer2:

When my son believed in Santa, I'd wait until Christmas Eve to wrap everything. Now that he's older, I wrap a little at a time and place it under the tree as it's done. It's so funny to watch him, my niece(7) and nephew (9) try to figure out what's in each box. It drives them nuts not to be able to open anything until Christmas morning.

Santa has different wrapping paper for each child are our house so santa never has tags. Santa just wraps the gifts in the childs paper and then when they are under the tree just lays the stocking on top of the pile.

My kids are really spread out in age, so when the second child came, the first one had already stopped believing and was very, nosey, so that when I started the whole different wrapping paper for each child thing.

By the time the 3rd one came, neither of the older ones believed so it was just easier to hid them using the wrapping paper method.

Always were wrapped with white tissue paper. Name written on paper. I kept this as our tradition except last couple years since kids are older.

Santa always wraps everything that goes under the tree. I have a question that I was thinking about posting on a new thread but I'll put it here instead.

How many of you wait until the night before Christmas to put presents under the tree? Last year was the first time that I waited until the night before and I really enjoyed the surprise it created when the kids woke the next morning. However, I have always loved the effect created by having presents under the tree (at least for a period of time).

I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do about this year. I've even thought about wrapping a couple of empty boxes and letting my children open them and creating a story such as "Santa is magical and the night before Christmas he fills all of the empty boxes that we put under the tree". :thumbsup2 But I'm really unsure what I'm going to do because my DS3 believes and my DS8 has pretty much lost faith.

Santa wraps every present in our house. Always has. Santa has three different wrapping papers for each of the boys.

Santa comes on Christmas Eve when the boys are asleep. My oldest is 11 and makes a big deal of it for his brothers. I understand the effect of presents. So I put out all off our other presents (like nieces, newphews, friends, parents). And I put out our present to the kids. I do have a friend who wraps boxes and puts them under her tree for the effect.

Santa does not wrap at our house. I just love to see my girls faces when they come down the stairs and see all their stuff. Santa only brings toys and books and we wrap and clothes, shoes.ect....

I have to have gifts under the tree as soon as it's up. :thumbsup2
