Our new house has newly refinished and sealed hardwood floors. In our living and dining room, we found perfect area rugs for under the dining room table, and for under the coffee table. Unfortunately, they are Olefin, so they have that rough, scratchy backing.
We don't need them for "rug slippage" purposes, as they are under furniture, but rather for floor protection purposes. I don't want that rough backing scratching my floors when people walk on them.
Also, the rugs are large, and the 8'x10' rug pad isn't really 8'x10', it more or less leaves an inch on each side of the rug exposed. Is this inch going to scratch my floor? Am I wasting my money?
I am paranoid.
Thanks!
