Are resort benefits for DVC members guaranteed?

I know that DVC members currently receive the same benefits as cash paying resort guests. We currently are entitled to benefits such as Extra Magic Hours, Magical Express, free Disney transportation (e.g. buses), etc.

Are these resort benefits guaranteed for DVC members, or are they at the discrection of Disney. For example, is it possile in the future that cash guests are entitled to Extra Magic Hours but DVC members staying on points are not?

Just wondering

Thanks!

DVC resorts are considered as WDW resorts. They are even offered on a cash basis. I wouldn't think they would, or could, differentiate them from the other WDW Disney resorts as far as Resort perks such as free parking at the theme parks, extra magic hours, etc.

I'm sure that the response you got is pretty accurate and I seriously doubt that Disney wouldn't give DVC members the same benefits that they give others staying on property. But keep in mind that the only thing guaranteed to DVC owners are those specifically stated in the owners agreement.

They can't keep day guests off the buses, not worried about that one.

Personally, I was shocked when ME was "free" for us (this board seems undecided if we are having our dues impacted by this service).

It took a year + for us to be eligible for the dining plan.

We've always had EMH (when offered). My guess is that it would be more difficult to exclude DVCers than it is worth. But I'd guess its possible.

Deluxe resort perks - like concierge - aren't available on points.

No, it isn't guarenteed. But, it isn't guarenteed to resort guests either - traveling after 9/11, we didn't have EHM (back then EE). And while we've always had bus service, some years it has barely been worth having.

Actually, Concierge Service at Deluxe resorts is available on points and is even included in the point charts. However, that is not guaranteed and was not available in the past on points. There is no concierge service available at DVC resorts - whether using points or cash.

Everything is available as long as Disney chooses to make it available.

Generally, DVC perks and benefits mirror those of on-site hotel guests. There have been exceptions in the past, and I am sure there will be some in the future.

They wont be taking the bus service away, since we all pay for that from our dues for our specific resorts.

The only true guarantee is to be able to book at your home DVC resort assuming you're in good standing and the resort is fully operational. But I'd agree it's likely a certain corp set of options will continue as long as they're available at WDW resorts in general.
