Are rats a problem at DL???

It isn't really surprising. It's warm, moist, and full of food and shelter. I think rats in close proximity are much more common than we like to think.

Most houses' yards in suburban Southern Cal have tons of rats. My sister lives in the Costa Mesa area of Orange County- very upscale - we joke about the huge rats running around outside, climbing up avacado trees. I am sure it you looked all over California (and in the US where the climate is right) you would find it is a rodent haven. DL has lots of water & great hiding places. Thank goodness for cats - they are a great way of letting nature control the situation. I don't care about rats outside but rats inside are gross and dangerous to one's health and wiring! DL needs to focus on rodent control indoors I think.
The OC Weekly is obviously trying to get attention and since no other news media (at least that I have seen) has picked up on this issue I am not too concerned.

to the fact that Orange County has a lot of rats. I've lived here my whole life and I have seen a lot of rats around the houses I've lived in. There's the difference, though...I have never seen any IN the houses that I have lived in. Disney can use the excuse that rats can't be stopped from coming into the park, but they have got to do a better job of keeping them out of the restaurants and ride buildings. A good exterminator is key. Disney has got to get aggressive with this problem. Too many of the exterminators out here don't see rats as that big of a problem and see rat control as the goal and not rat eradication. Maybe Disney needs to look into a new extermination company.

P.S. Even though the rats are less than 40" tall, do they still have to pay an adult price for an AP? Just wondering where the cut-off is...

They just better not set mouse traps. Mickey would have a cow!

I have never have had the pleasure of DLR rat visualization and I go quite a bit...

My daughter and I saw Goofy in the hall near the lobby of the Disneyland Hotel. We didn't have the heart to ask...

I have been to DLR dozens of times - where are all these rats y'all are seeing?

R*I*C*(see you in the sewer sucker) K*E*Y(why, because we are vermin)***R*A*T!

Sory I had a Ricky Rat club flashback!

My best recollection of abundant animal life at DL is CATS. I can remember seeing several at, in & around the Toontown & New Orleans Square train stations. Where'd they all go?
