Are prople getting upgraded this year?

I've read posts before where people were staying at values and then were upgraded to SSW and/or OKW for free. Has it been happening this year at all?

I have seen some posts on here lately that people have been upgraded upon check in.

the posts I have seen recently were people that were booked at the FW Cabins over the next few weeks were upgraded due to remodeling.Some also have been upgraded at check-in.but if you are talking about the upgrades like last year where scores of people got upgraded to SSR because the values were overbooked, has not happened this year.

The free dining upgrades to DVC resorts last year were a very specific situation, and apparently were only offered to guests staying over Labor Day weekend. From what I remember, they overbooked the values.

There have been no reports of upgrades like that this year.

We were staying at AS Music for 10 days last year (Aug/Sept) and we were offered a free upgrade to SSR (offer came via an early June "Tinkerbell" email).

We met several others while on vacation that were from WDW Values and were upgraded free as well. We have not heard of this happening this year.

Neither Disney, nor the email, ever specified why this upgrade occurred and believe me, we ask (more than once). There was speculation that it was due to over-booking, due to the need to free Values up for incoming visitors, and/or due to computer glitches... but again, this was all speculation because our asking our "special" Disney agent (there was a special number to call to accept the offer), asking other WDW CM's via telephone (while on about/modifying our trip later), asking at check-in, and emailing WDW GS after the offer came, never gave a definiative answer as to why!

We were thrilled it did occur, irregardless of why!

I have 2 seperate packages w/ connecting rooms booked at ASsp. It would be awesome to get a free upgrade to a DVC resort and fit all my peeps in one place. But I guess it's not in the cards this year!

We booked a Land/Sea vacation for next month and got upgraded mid-June from CBR to the Dolphin. Our stateroom only went from Cat 12 to 11 though. We aren't doing the DDP this trip so maybe that made us good candidates to free up a mod.
