Are places in Downtown Disney appropriate for 80 year olds?

My extended family is going to Disney on Christmas and will not have a car. We are staying on site at one of the budget places that does not have any sit down restaurants. We are working hard to find a nice place for Christmas dinner for 14 people of all ages.

Because my parents who are 80 years old like Seafood we thought about going to Fulton's Crabhouse in Downtown Disney, but some of the reviews said it was a busy very loud hip and happening spot more suited to young hips than people who are 80 years old.

Anyone with advice for a high end sea food restaurant that will fit the needs of a mixture of ages and will be open on Christmas? No car, so we can not go to places far away.

You didn't say if you were on the dining plan or not?

If not, Todd English's bluezoo at the Dolphin resort is top notch.

If you are on the dining plan and do not wish to pay out of pocket, the best choice for high end seafood would by Flying Fish on the Boardwalk. It's one of Disney's signature restaurants and would take 2 credits from the dining plan.

A third choice would be Narcoosees at the Grand Floridian. Their food is not at the same level as the two listed above but it's still very nice and has a gorgeous setting on the water.

All 3 of these can be traveled to by taking a bus from your resort to DTD and changing to the resort buses listed above.

Don't overlook restaurants at WDW resorts. You can eat at the restaurants even if you're not staying at that resort. You'd just take a bus to the park closest to that resort, and then transfer (monorail, bus, or boat) from the park straight to the resort to get there.

What about Coral Reef? I don't see if you were doing parks or not, but that might be neat with all of the aquariums?
I do recommend some of the other suggestions for going ot a resort though. We took our family (mid 60's) and they weren't too happy with the places we picked that required a lot of walking and they didn't really care about any disney transportation. So, might consider something that is easy to get to and is calm inside

Your whole family will feel comfortable at any of the Disney restaurants....young/old, thin/fat, rich/poor....it doesn't matter.....that's the wonderful thing about Disney World.

You might be thinking of Pleasure Island, a section of Downtown Disney that has the night clubs that more of the young adult crowd goes to for drinking and dancing.

You might want to think about a taxi for your parents to get to and from the restaurant on Christmas....it can take awhile to transfer around on the buses unless you go to Downtown Disney.

If it was me I would pick Flying Fish at the Boardwalk.
