I have lots of homework I can do on the plane to DLR, we have a 2 hour flight to Atlanta and then a 6 hour flight to LA.

Are pencils permitted on the airplane? And is replacement lead permitted?
I don't want to have them confiscated in security as a "weapon" and then be screwed out of doing my homework.

I always have a pen in my bag, so I'm pretty sure you can. :)

yes you can deffiantly bring pencils. I always do. But you cannot bring knitting needles. And even nail polish was barely allowed on. and it was under .5 oz

yes. when i was younger i got an artist kit. it came with a pencil and i brought it in my carry on. well... make sure u dont have a pocket knife with you... it happened to me and i thought i took it out of my bag. he he.

Ummmm i haven't really thought about that.
I don't know the answer to that question.

Thanks!

Stupid question, I know. I posted this and though, uhh maybe you should look at the TSA guidelines?! Yeah, brain fart!

Does anyone know where I can find what we can and can't bring?

My favourite thing that was left off the banned items list is a Javelin. It's a big long thing with a pointy tip, but it's not on the list of banned stuff.

You can bring knives with blades 1 inch or shorter, I know so because I had one in my carry on going to france.

You can bring as much liquid as you want so long as they are in containers 3oz or less and in a 1 quart ziploc bag.

And yes, pencils are allowed. I had 3 regular pencils and a cart of coloured ones coming back from France. Because there are only a few people in the world who can kill somebody with a pencil. They are: The Joker, Chuck Norris, James Bond, and Michael Westen. That's it. Nobody else is allowed to.

Like a lot of people said, they are allowed. If you get that jerk-off guard checking you through though and it's taken you can just buy one on the other side at the news shop or something.

Yes, the blade in it is smaller than what is in a disposable razor which is allowed in your carry on.

I remember a time when you couldn't bring magazines.

Can't you just see a hijacker go "Don't MAKE me make you read this issue of US Weekly!"

and ya ur good with it. i dont think the sharpener is allowed though.you would have to wait till you got where your going for that.

have fun on your trip:thumbsup2

One of my favorite airport security stories is from my dad. He was arrested at the airport because he forgot he had a steak knife in his carry on. He even had his mug shot taken, lol. Every time he picks me up at the airport (he's in Nebraska, I'm in Florida) he tries to get his mug shot so he can frame it. haha

I know that didn't really have anything to do with your question, but I figured you already knew the answer. ;)

Anyone else notice this thread is over 2 years old?
