Are parks busier on EMA days.

Looking at the park hours from last year for when we are going (September) it looks like there will only be one park with EMH each day. My question to you is … is that the park to go to each day? How would you plan your trip.

Thanks again every one.

We find that the EMH morning hours work well and we go to those parks. For some reason the Americans dont seem to go to the morning ones as much as the evening ones.

We tend to avoid the evening ones, we have found them to be too busy.

Going in September, like us, it will get less busy anyway because their schools are back:thumbsup2

We did the morning EMH's and didn't find them particularly busy, at each park we were able to do our 'must do' rides a couple of times over before the parks got too busy, then we could relax and take our time throughout the day. We only did the odd evening EMH but as they are for up to three hours extra I would say these are slightly busier than the morning ones :)

I've always found evening EMH pretty quiet, although that may have something to do with the time of year (May and September).

EMH evening parks are definitely busier than EMH morning parks. We usually go in September and we've found that sometimes the EMH evenings are busy, sometimes they are not. If you can do the mornings over the evenings, then do so! You only get an hour in the morning, but there will be considerably less people around than would be during a 3-hour EMH evening.

The other thing to bear in mind is that since they stopped doing wrist bands for the evening EMH, it might look like there are more people in the park because they cannot see from just looking at you whether you should be there or not. I've not been asked for a room key or ID when purchasing something, which has changed, as you always used to have to show your wrist band in order to purchase something so that non-resort guests could not ride or buy, and therefore would be more encouraged to leave.

The only thing we had to show our room keys for this last trip during EMH was to ride the rides. And even then, in the same park, some were details looks, some were not. Buzz Lightyear's Space Rangers' CMs had torches and were looking very closely at keycards; Big Thunder Railroad Mountain were happy with just a flash, so those with old KTTW cards could probably got onto the ride, had they brought with them old cards!

I always use The Unofficial Guide Touring Plans which work well for me
They advise that you avoid parks with EMH

I think some times of the year potentially it could be busy on an EMH day, there have been times at Easter and in the summer when we have found them to be just that.
In September I doubt it will make much difference but at busier times it could well do.

To be honest we do try and avoid them if we can.

we avoid them too, if DHS has had an EMH on a mon ev, we go tues am. even in peak (aug) time, parks are doable.

Thanks every one. I am trying to get sorted so as soon as my 180 comes round I can just pick what days go where and then make my ADRs. I think I will try and go to the parks with early EMA…what do you think to this plan….(We are going for 2 weeks)

1 – Arrive would love wishes to be on to go see that
2 – M EEMA
3 – EP EEMA
4 – AK - EEMA
5 – HS EEMA
6 – BB – Then a chill out in DTD & Disney Quest
7 – TL – Then to fantasmic
8 – Universal Studios
9 – Islands of Adventure
10 – Free day no ADRs (late EMH for MK)
11 - Free day no ADRs (late EMH for HS)
12- Free day no ADRs (late EMH for AK)
13- Free day no ADRs (late EMH for EP)
14 – Last day travel home breakfast ADR at CP Mk

Think I will put my free day on each day when the parks have late EMA so that is an option.

This is just an initial plan when the park hours are realised I will slot each of the above days in to the appropriate place.

Thanks again every one hope it makes sence

Looks good, also forgot to say that because of the time difference you will be up early anyway, so taking advantage of the morning hours is beneficial:rotfl2:

Depending how late you want to stay up - you can have some fun at the end of the EMH... we rode Test track 4x without getting off at midnight once...

I too avoid EMH after accidentally being in MK when there was one on a few occasions. It just wasn't fun. We hit the Disney parks the day after they have had an EMH. We usually visit in peak summer time.

We also accidently went to MK on an EMH and decided to stay around til around 1am. We loved it - walked onto most things and we thought it was great!!!!! We've going to try it again!

Would you say the morning EMH are worthwhile in August? Won't bother with Evening EMH anyway as we will need to get our little ones to bed. Thanks

The key to EMH may be the time you of the year you go. Lines for evening EMH at MK were all about two hours when we have seen them in July. I think early morning EMH would be better during peak summer times.
