Are paper Fast Passes still being handed out?

I am not up to speed on the FP+ stuff yet.

If I choose not to do any FP+ reservations, can we still tour using paper fast passes like last few years.

Or will we be hurting by not taking advantage of the FP+ reservations.

not today they werent.. but the machines are all still up but the signage is gone.. they might be keeping the machines up for a little while longer just in case something goes wrong.. but dont worry not you get to wait in line for a fastpass kiosk so thats always fun

There is no going back at this point. For better or worse the last ever legacy FP has been given out. They are not keeping the machines. They are actually in the process of being removed, but they can't just yank them all at once overnight. It looks like they are prioritizing locations that will have permanent FP+ service kiosks.

For instance, the Buzz Light year machines are gone and all that's left are holes in the concrete. This can be clearly seen from the PeopleMover. Likewise, there is a similar construction wall around the former Pooh / Little Mermaid machines location. I'm sure if you could see behind those walls you'd see the machines have already been removed. This is only 2 examples, but there are others being actively removed at this point and I would expect all machines to be gone in the next month or two.

grrrreat.

Last Disney trip was March of 2013, when the RF id stuff was just coming out. I have checked out of all things Disney since then. Now we are doing a last minute trip in 3 weeks, and I am woefully unprepared for the changes.

Looks like from my what I have read tonight, you trade in being able to preschedule some rides for being forced to ride standby on a great deal more rides.

I wont say I hate it yet since I have not tried it, but I am not impressed so far.

Won't show up in the DIS app, unless someone can tell me how.

I just got back from a trip and used the new fast pass. I booked everything initially, but I easily made changes to my times and ride choices when I was there... I couldn't change everything, but I would say about a good 80% were able to be changed around once I got a better grasp on my day. I often bumped up my fastpass times minutes before getting on rides. A smart phone will be your best friend to make last minute fast pass changes... they have kiosks all over the place to change or get fastpass selections... but me and my husband would joke that you need a fastpass just to get a fastpass... the lines for that seemed longer then just riding standby. Also I learned that if you miss your fastpass time you can easily go in and change the unused fastpass for a later time or different ride... it's nice that you don't lose it forever if you get hung up somwhere or lose track of time.

For those longing for days gone by..... FPs are alive and well in DLR. They also have Toontown, Snow White's ride, and Mr. Toad.

Just sayin.

Oh, and the churros are better. :teeth:
