Yes, there is still some problems to solve.
But after viewing the video of Ben&David, when I see the details, the stunning environment and the respect of the Bahamian culture, it's really what I expect from Disney.
They did a fantastic job !

I'm more excited. Sure they had the fly problem but they can fix that hopefully. Having to take a tram to the beach is the only thing that don't excite me I enjoy walking tbh.

Other then that small thing excited and I'm sure they will have certain things better by then

Less. After seeing some pics, we have no plans to book a cruise to visit. Looks so underwhelming. And we don’t care about the walk. We routinely walk from the ship to serenity bay on castaway.

A couple of thoughts….

Overall I’m impressed…

Feels like CC will be the “flagship private island” where the new ships go, and the older ones as possible, LC@LP will be where the older ships (cheaper ships) go and have a good experience.

We have always thought the cabanas at CC seemed silly, but really like the look of the cabanas at LC@LP.

Flies are unacceptable… Not sure if we will chance getting off the ship in our September Cruise… I’d switch us to the Wish which is doing the identical sailing, but we have yet to do the Magic and want to sail on it so badly we are willing to drive down to PE…

Here’s the funny thing - I had assumed that the reason the new ships were not going to lighthouse point was to keep people going on the old ships. I actually think that’s what Disney’s plan was. I don’t think they, in any way shape or form, anticipated anything but glowing reviews of Lookout Cay and they were banking on it being a shiny new island to keep people on the older ships.

We are on the September 30 sailing of the magic and if I didn’t already have flights booked, we would be canceling.

I'll take a long walk on a pier over tenders any day of the week.

I walk my dog in the blazing hot sun that far 4 times a day, I think I'll survive but I don't think we'll ever get there because our next cruise is on the Treasure and the itineraries that do go to LP aren't ones we'd necessarily book at the moment.

The same. Our family is doing a 5 day cruise on the Fantasy that goes to both islands and Nassau. We booked it for the ship first, then the itinerary. We do Caribbean cruises to relax on the beach, and the beach at Lookout Cay looks amazing.

I'm not a beach person (the sun, the sand, the seagulls) so I like that LC has the family water play area. But I also have really simple demands for beaches: water that's warmer than 68 degrees, enough room to spread out, and drinks nearby.

Speaking of drinks nearby... Can anyone report if they had servers offering to bring drinks to you like on CC? It looks like a further trek to the bars from the ocean front beach chairs. I love that they will bring you drinks on CC as you sit there (and yes, I tip well because I appreciate the extra service).

I got to watch the video yesterday and found my family once, and my wife and I a second time.

So far we have scrubbed through 4 vloggers videos and found ourselves in 3 of them.

I only saw Ben and David on board one day and strangely never saw them on the island despite being in their video.

DH and I are booked for late February 2025 on the Dream out of Ft. Lauderdale. I booked Concierge since we are celebrating my DH's 65th birthday. He has respiratory issues, so I figured Concierge is less walking around for him for food and drink and a convenient sundeck/hot tub.

When I saw that pier, I almost cancelled but realized that there should be accessiblitly transportation. He needs to use oxygen when walking an significant distance theses days.

Then, I saw how far everything is just to walk from getting food to a table. A long wooden walkway to get the sand but then you have to go over a little bridge to get near the water.

I am hoping to get an Adult only Cabana but there does not look there are many. I want to make it comfortable for him.

Plus, the lack of shade. Now the water is beautiful and the beaches are goregous.

If they get rid of the FLY problem all over the food. I think the food offerings look good.

DH say keep cruise, worse case he will stay on the ship. He loves Concierge. (Its been over 10 years since we splurged)!

I was so looking forward to Lookout Cay and now not so much.

I am hoping between now and February, Disney will make the necessary adjustments and improvements to make the location more inviting and pleasurable for all their guests. Fingers crossed.

🚢 😎 :earsgirl: 🤞

I am less excited, unfortunately. The long pier doesn’t bother me as much. As some other people have said, I think it’s much better than tendering. I understand they did it this way as to not have to dig up in the water and hurt the ecosystem.
I am surprised that there haven’t been too much mention of the swarms of flys around and ON the buffet food. I am hoping they can figure out a way to get that under control but it is the main turn off for me at this point.
I do think the water is gorgeous and in the couple videos I have seen the people have said the beach is so much better than castaway.
I will be happy to try it out but I’m not sure it will be a “must do” port on a Disney cruise like castaway is for me.

Maybe the latest marketing campaign will get you a little more in the mood?

You're required to take that tram?

I'd rather be shipwrecked on Gilligan's Island than walk down that pier to Lookout Cay. At least I'll start out closer to the beach and the natives will be more interesting!!

I am at about the same level of excitement, but I was never very excited by the initial plans anyway. We are doing the double dip at Castaway along with Nassau and Lookout in Nov. I am most excited about being on the Fantasy and stopping at Castaway twice. Everything else is just a bonus. We plan on staying on the ship at Nassau since we have been there twice. We have been to Atlantis and Blue Lagoon. Enjoy both of them but HATE having to return to the ship through the market or whatever it is.

Lookout looks like a nice beach that we will enjoy. We are all in decent shape so the pier is fine. DD7 will most likely be a bit whiny on the way back after a long day so we will make sure we have water for her. My main concern is the flies on the food. It would be one thing if they were just around but to see them all on the food is just gross. I do hope Disney will solve this problem soon. I doubt they are happy about people posting their brand new island pictures covered in flies.

Much less excited. I'll take a double dip on Castaway Cay over this nonsense of a walk. Disney, you dropped a big ball on this one. Where is the comfort of your guest on your priority list? And it's ridiculous to think that you have to have a "mobility" issue, to use transportation, on CC the trams are for EVERYONE. What gives?? Not booking this island.

The trams ARE for everyone.
I have just posted an update that if you require a golf cart on the way back you can jump on. Complaining about this is now a moot point
