Are my waitlist hopes done?

I was trying to get a studio at AK for 5/15-5/20, but since we are now at 30 days does that mean that it won't come through anymore? This is my first time on a waitlist and was just wondering how that all works.

Stuff happens and vacations get canceled, your odds are slim but you never know.

We have never been lucky with waitlists so we gave up on them, saved money for a few years and bought where we love to stay.

The way things were recently explained to me by a very helpful CM in MS.....

As we all know, some villas are held back for non DVC members as cash rooms. The number of rooms held back vary based on different criteria that aren't worth getting into now. In some cases, not all of those rooms get reserved by paying customers. Rather than let them sit empty, the rooms may be given/sold back to DVC for members to buy on points. If this is going to happen, it can be at the last minute.

The best way to see if this is still a possibility is to check the WDW website for the room availability you want, as if you were going to pay cash for the room. As long as there are still rooms available, there is still a chance that it could be sold back & match your WL. There are no guarantees of course, but it could happen.

Unfortunately, for your dates, it looks like the only studios left are Club Level, so the odds aren't great. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get a miracle though!

Thank you all for your help. This was a last minute throw together trip to celebrate my DS birthday and get out of the horrible Wisconsin weather. We go back in Nov and already have BLT booked. I will keep waiting and hopping . Thanks agains

I had a waitlist come through the day before. So how do you ask. DVC called me the night before and said my room was available if I wanted to change. It was the same person who I had placed the waitlist with. I was shocked when that happened.
