Are my banking time frames correct?

So if I were to buy a 40 point contract at Hilton Head in February of next year and it had 40 points on it for 2018, and I didn't take a trip in 2018, I could bank those points, right?

I could bank those up until September 31, 2018? But if I did not bank them I would have until January 31, 2019 to use them. Am I correct?

Yes, a contract with a February use year would need to bank 2018 points before October 1, 2018 or use the points by Jan 31, 2019

The UY of a contract has nothing to do with the date you buy it.

If you buy a contract with a Feb UY, then your 2018 UY pts are valid for stays from Feb 1, 2018 to Jan 31, 2019.

If you bank those pts, they will be valid for stays from Feb 1, 2019 to Jan 31, 2020.

UY month has nothing to do with when you can call to book a stay. You can book a stay at your home resort at 11 months out or another DVC resort at 7 months out.

For any UY you have the first 8 months to bank, 12 months to use. Banking just moves the points into the next UY, they can only be banked once.
