I booked some meals today but want to know if I call back with same last name but different first name can I get other reservations? I am asking because say I have one at Magic Kingdom and would rather do Epcot-I would want to hold one at each locations. Any help is appreciated as I am new to the dining plan. :confused3

When I worked for WDW Reservations - I was a dining supervisor. (Please dont ask me detailed questions because that was 5 years ago and a lot has changed since then.) However, one thing that I am sure of, is that we had the capability of running reports that listed similarities (names, phone numbers, hotels, check in date, etc).

If you have many reservations booked, or if they see a similarity, you will probably get a phone call to say, "Choose between the two or lose (because we'll choose for you)" (in a nice Disney way).

Good Luck!

The reason for this is that if they are holding multiple ADRs for you, that means someone else will not be able to get one...which is unfair to other diners. ADRs are hard enough to get without that.

They ask for your home phone number and list the ressie under your phone number. I suppose you might get away with different first name and different phone number. THey also ask what resort you are staying at.....

Multiple ressies aren't polite. THe fact that you have 2 means that someone else can't get even one. Cancel the one you're not going to use before WDW catches it and cancels both. (which is what they'll do!)

While it is nice to have lots of options, under the Disney ADR system and especially with the current popularity of DDP, it would be very discourteous to do that. Please be fair with other families and especially other DIS'er's here and do not hold two reservations.
COULD you get away with it?? Maybe, maybe not. But it would really not be a nice thing to do, as others have suggested.
Enjoy!!!

:stir: popcorn:: Hopefully because you're new here you won't get flamed, but if you do a search on this you will find that holding multiple ADRs is a BIG no no here on the boards and with Disney. Your holding multiple ADRs means someone who knows they really want to eat there may not be able to get an ADR. With the dining plan quite a few restaraunts are now refusing all walk ups. Besides if WDW catches you they can and will cancel at least one and unfortunately it may not be the one you wished to give up. In addition to your name, your phone number will show up on their screen when you call in. I usually give them my home phone number when they ask but I've had ADRs show up under my cell phone number since that's the one I usually call in with (even though I've never given then that number verbally). They also usually ask which resort you're staying at and when your check in date is. In other words I wouldn't do it.

Welcome to the Disboards, by the way!

Not to mention the fact that if you get a call from Disney asking you to pick which ADRs you actually want then you're lucky. Most of the people who've had ADRs canceled by WDW found out the hard way- when they've shown up for the ADR and were told it was no longer in the system. So, regardless of how I feel about it, I wouldn't advise trying it.

I think you've already made your mind up if you say you would rather do Epcot. Even if you're new to the boards common sense tells you it would be unfair to others to hold 2 ressies.
