What are everyone's plans for the weekend?
I'm spending tomorrow packing and then Sunday we are heading to Disneyland for a pre-birthday celebration for DS (his actual birthday is while we are on the ship).

The job is gone... They decided that they don't need someone to do this anymore.

I know it is part of the Sequestration and continuing resolution BS... I wish they could just pass a budget, it does not take 4 years + to pass a budget...

Ugh...that sucks I'm not sure exactly what you are doing but is it something that you will be able to pick up another contract? Or do you need to look into private companies now?

I imagine that is hard working under government contract and never knowing when they can pull this on you.

I hope you are able to find something quickly!!!

My friend works for a company contracted by the govt. as a computer programmer. He keeps 5 weeks vacation at all times to make sure that if he gets laid of due to all this he has bonus money just in case. it's no fun.

It should be! One of my favorite beaches/restaurants, the beachcomber at cahoon hollow in wellfleet, got hit really hard by sandy so I'm curious to how it's doing now.

It really does suck and hopefully I can find something quickly.

My contract runs out on Sept 30th, and I go on vacation for 3 weeks starting in mid November, so I would like to be settled into a new job way before my vacation time, so it does not seem like I am jumping ship right after I get there.

I don't even know how to explain what I do. I am a subject matter expert, in Modeling and Simulation, for the Department of Defense. But really I am a certified project management professional in software application development.

Is that confusing? It is to me. but again hopefully I will find something.
