Are Moo Moo's And Boo Boo's Doomed?...Part 5

Ack.
I'm not using the app to post for the first time in ages. Feels so strange...

Boos and Moos, I need some help!

I've posted before DH and I are thinking of buying new rings, as his doesn't fit, and he doesn't wear it. We put it on a necklace, but it kept smacking him in the face when he'd work out, so he'd take it off, forget it, rinse and repeat.

An additional problem is - he's a musician, and when they play shows, he has to take his ring off. (Left hand is his strumming hand for the bass, and it gets in the way/scratches instrument.)

I guess I made a face at it. (MOSTLY unintentionally.) But really. The boy gets propositioned at EVERY DANG SHOW he plays?! (Makes me secretly giggle. My sister makes fun of the way he looks when he plays. Says it's girly. Sheesh. Wish the women of America agreed with her...)

So he suggested, half jokingly, that he could wear it on his right hand. Granted, its not the 'proper' hand, but still. Then, he brightened up and say I could wear mine that way too - so we'd still match.

I'm... more traditional than I like to admit. I have my odd streaks, more so now that I'm with him. So I didn't really like the idea at first... but it's growing on me. It fits, we're anything but normal. :P And it'd be nice to not worry about him taking the ring off for shows, and losing it. (It's happened to some musicians we know. No bueno.)

Just curious what you alls' opinion would be. I know that in the very least, I'll be bracing myself for the opinion of everyone I see. "WHY ARE YOU NOT WEARING A RING, WHAT HAPPENED?!!" And so on. ;-)

Plus side though, I could still wear my 'original' wedding ring on the finger it's fitted to. That's a plus. It's a pretty ring, so that makes me happy. Simple, but pretty.

How about putting the ring on his right hand when he plays then put it back when he is done?

Yummy Dirt....

So do you use it?

you know to me this is between you and your DH, if you two decided to do something to show your commitment to each other, then that is all that matters.

My DH was hit on, even with his wedding band on, so I do not think matters to some.

You know you can a ring anywhere it is really what is in your heart that matters. So I guess I am saying do what makes you happy to heck with anyone else.

That's very true.
And my Dad, actually never wore his ring.
He did for a while, he worked in an asphalt plant though - and one time, his ring got caught in something, almost took his finger off! :scared1: So after that he started taking it off, but it went for a swim down the drain one day. :\

I know it's not that big of a deal, in all reality. Ring, no ring, wrong hand, whatever . But I do think I'd like to have a set. I kinda like knowing that the guy who was never going to get married, doesn't mind wearing a ring. :) I think we'll do it- if we find a set we like. :) I'll just prepare for the snarky comments - they should come RIGHT before or after the people asking when we're going to have kids, right? ;)

There is several flavors of Dirt in my house, we have the regular, the cajun and the crab, which makes amazing crab dip....

Oh yum! Do you order online, or find it in a store?!

Could work. I don't know about his hands, but on mine, it wouldn't. :\ My fingers are just differently sized enough that the rings sized for one hand, won't fit on the other. One's a little too small, one is just a touch too big, so it rattles around.

I hear you....

Do what makes you both happy....

Remember to enjoy each other, and make the most of everyday, that is truly all that matters.

Get a set, wear it where you want, it is all up to you too.

I went thru all the kids questions too.... :crazy2:

So I've been researching why the left hand is the ring hand but can't find a good reason (finding better reasons for the finger but not the hand). The only one I saw that addressed the left hand said bcz most ppl are right handed so the left is more protected. In your case (well your husband's) that is completely not true so, by that logic, he SHOULD wear it on the right hand - hee! :)

I had always heard that there is a vain in your left ring finger that runs all the way to your heart.

Or something like that

I've heard that the left ring finger, supposedly has the vein to the heart, and the right doesnt? But I thought I read that was disproven somewhere.

Ah well. I think we'll go for it. Knowing Matt, he'll make up some weird wacky reason when someone asks him... I'm looking forward to hearing that . He likes BSing people, just for the heck of it. :P

And yes. Ugh. One lady has asked me every time she's seen me, when she gets a baby. It's all I can do not to punch her.

I did read that there is a vein in the 4th finger but no evidence it was in the left hand so I ignored it since it's BS LOL

My credit card statement closed yesterday so I called today to redeem all my points for money to spend during my upcoming trip. YAY!!!

Hum, I'm a bad person to give advice because DH never wears his ring. I have a feeling that it doesn't even fit him anymore.
It has never bothered me that he doesn't wear it. He can't for work (too dangerous) and used to wear it on special occasions but I honestly haven't seen it in years.
We have both put on a lot of weight since we got married. I have had my ring sized but he never has.

I will say though that if I were in your situation, I would want my DH wearing a ring too. My friend's DH is also a musician and she goes through the same thing with women coming on to him at every show. But he is the lead singer so he wears his ring :thumbsup2 It still doesn't stop the women from coming on to him...even when she is there.

OMG Boo Boo's - did you read about the new Carnival Nightmare? One of their newer ships is stuck in St Maarten (heh, stuck) and the rest of the cruise is cancelled and pax are being flown home. And next is cancelled too. Eeks!
