Yes it is good enough to get out of the hospital but not his normal number, but they think with exercise and eating right and taking his meds that he will be back to normal...

Plus I am on my second martini, so who knows what I might say, must be time to log off the DIS and facebook, before I get in trouble.

Sounds odd, but look into a plant based diet, if the diabetes is bad.. it's been shown to reverse it and other conditions. Good people to look up: Rip Essylstein, John(I think) McDougall. :-)

We had a great time. II'm exhausted. I got a D&B last cruise and I used it again this one.

I can't see a link in yout siggie. :confused3

I'm gald he's doing better. I'm usualky in the 150 range if not higher.

I am usually around 70 when he tests mine..

You're so well behaved. I never think to shut up when I'm drinking. I think everyone wants to talk to me

Oh I think that too, but I have received many a note from the mods, and really needed to delete something off Facebook, so I learned to put the computer down....

Just put the computer down and walk away.... :rotfl:

David and I have been slowly changing the way we eat....

We have given up everything white... No white : rice, pasta, bread, tortillas, potatoes... Everything is whole wheat, and the real whole wheat, not enriched white...

We have moved to all fresh veggies, locally grown if we can, and this year we bought into a CSA, it is with a local farmer, and we start getting our share next month, I am so excited...

We also have cut all processed foods, nothing comes from a mix, a box, or anything, and I mean nothing.....

I read all the labels and try to purchase only things without a lot of added starches or gums. I used to eat cottage cheese alot, but have since dropped it from my diet, it has added starch and gum.

we exercise at least 5 times a week, he has lost 45 pounds, and I have lost 30....

Now we did not do all of this at one time, it has been a process, of doing one thing at a time, and has evolved into this.

Meatless Monday was very hard for David but now it is just second nature...

Next is getting everything organic. and adding fiber, I want to get 30 mg a day..

We do a mix of organic and conventional in my pantry and fridge. And we're going to try cutting out added sugar for about 2 months. We've checked the calendars and mid May is a very good time to start the no sugar thing.

I've been rather slack in the kitchen; but am slowly starting to head back to cooking. I need to get back to making and freezing pasta sauces rather than using the stuff out of a bottle.

I canned some last fall, I made a huge batch from fresh tomatoes and canned it and put it in the pantry.

Last year we canned up a lot of fresh veggies to use over the winter, and we are all out... So this year we need to can a little bit more.

That's awesome!

I'm impressed with all you healthy folks. Fran would revolt if she couldn't have her white bread. I made John Wayne's cheese casserole for dinner one night and she said, "I thought this was the side. Where is the meat?" :lmao:

My family is the same way! Red meat, bacon, etc all the way!

To make up for the weeks where I post endless amounts of bad news, I have more good news today.

My friend just got her time off request approved to come with us to Disneyland. Yay!!!
