Are Monsters, Inc. pins really hard to find?

Bought some last month and thought they were cute. This trip, I couldn't find one in the parks and found only the Monsters Car Parade pin in WoD. Cast members said they are hard to find!

I have had some bought for me (at cost) and I have traded for others. I haven't made it top priority, and I don't have them all... But almost. And I live in a park pin challenged state. I think it just depends on your connections and how much effort you put into it. JMHO.

Well, I was just at DL on Sunday. There were 8 pins released there originally and only 4 available resort wide now. You can find Celia, Randall, Roz and Waternoose but no Mike, Sully or either of the two Boos. I'm glad I got the set when I did but I'm trying to find two sets for Flitter. I love a challenge! The thrill of the hunt!

but it doesn't matter who you know. Those puppies are gone! I knew they were core (rack) pins so I didn't bother hanging on to mine. I traded with every disappointed child who wanted which ever one I had. Now I am moster- inc.-less. They should return some time however, we just don't know when. So my opinion is ... yes they are hard to find.

We looked all over for them on our trip to WDW last week -- my ds really wanted them after I showed them to him on ebay. However, we were told that "they" underestimated the demand and those babies are gone! The CM we spoke with thought they might have them again after the first of the year, FWIW.

Agree that the WDW ones are HTF, from what I have heard. But i have still made Pinpics trades rather easily to get the ones I have.
My sister was just in DCA a week ago today. The only one she was not able to buy me was boo in a costume.
Are the WDW Monsters rack pins different from the DL/DCA Monsters rack?

The two sets of pins are different. First, in Florida it seems that all pins are more expensive. Hehe. Flitter and I have been doing some buying for each other and while we're ending up with the same amount of pins, I keep owing her money! LOL.

There are 8 pins at DL: Mike, Sully, Roz, Celia, Randle, Waternoose, Boo in a dress and Boo in costume. None are 3-D and all are $6.50. WoD has a Monsters Inc. pin that looks similar to the WDW opening day pin from Florida but it is not 3-D.

There are 5 pins at WDW: Mike (spinning eye), Sully (fuzzy tummy), Randle (moving tail), Boo in costume (3-D) and the Monsters, Inc. Opening Day pin. All but the last are $8.50. The LE is $10.50.

I think that's all of them. If anyone knows otherwise, let us know cuz that's all I have and I thought I had the whole set. I hope I'm not missing one!

Thanks for the info! I did get the Spring Tail and Fuzzy Sully in trades! Very neat. And I am sure like the TS pins, some are much harder to come by than some. But, who's in a rush?
And that would BE A SHAME if they started selling them again after the first of year! Esp January 5 - 12! (Hopefully they don't start selling them again STARTING Jan 12-13! Bummer for me.
I think they should combine theme pins -- How about Sully or Mike in a running suit!?

They just put them back out & ZX MOM said she saw today they are selling like hot cakes at world of disney.......they are rack but a very popular rack so when they are gone disney will either have to find a box (Never heard that before) OR put in an order for more????
But if you don't have them you better get them now before they go away again.......Santa already may have gotten ZX MOM some...I hope I sent him some chocolate cookies to make sure he got them????
