We are new to having any sort of military discounts, so I'm learning how to get the most out of them. Are tickets cheaper on base rather than purchasing at the park? I've also read about military vouchers for cheaper hotel rates. Is this something separate from the military rate provided by some hotels? Are there any other discounts I should know about? Thanks for the help!!

Tickets are same price at the park as they are at the base. DL doesn't charge tax

Assuming you are talking about the Salute tickets, they are the same price on base as at the gates. In our case, nearest base is 6 hours away, so buying at the gates is "cheaper"--saves us $25 in shipping, or the gas to get to the base :)

Re: vouchers for hotel stays, I have no idea. Recently I called to check on Onsite hotel rates with military discounts. The rooms are limited, and they aren't always the "basic" ones--so, PPH only had a $450/night concierge with standard view, and GCH only had premium views in the upper $300s, and DLH had a standard view around $300 as well.

While Park Vue Inn isn't Disney, it's closer to the main gates than any other hotel/motel. It's about $150-175. Tropicana, two doors down from Park Vue, has military rates that were in the $118 area; cheaper than most on Harbor.

Thanks! I've actually been considering the Tropicana for this trip. We've stayed at Desert Palms the last couple trips, but thought it might be nice to come up the road a bit & get away from the ART this time.
