Are Lanyards the best way to carry your tickets?

This may be a really silly question, but never having been to DL, I wanted to hear from you veterans about what you find the most convenient way to carry your tickets in the parks. It seems like Lanyards are the most obvious, however I seem to remember reading once upon a time on this board that people were losing their tickets easily with lanyards???

I have a baggallini messenger bag, and it has a great little pocket on the strap that rests right on the center of my chest and is the perfect size to keep tickets, ART passes, and a little cash, so that is how I always did it. I would be worried about losing my tickets if they were on a lanyard.

In fact, we always make copies of our tickets, front and back, so that if we lose them we can prove we had them.

Thanks DesertBell - Funny you mention a baggalini messenger bag, I'm online looking at ordering one today, and wondering if people like these. Making copies is a great idea, I would have never thought of it!

For me and my family yes the lanyards work great, easy to pull out our tickets for fast passes, I keep a few bucks in mine for emergency churros. Plus its fun to collect pins on them.

I keep our tickets in my backpack! I've heard of too many people losing their lanyards and their tickets so I don't take the chance!

We use lanyards and the horizontally-aligned zipper plastic pouches sold at DLR. Hubby has a pirate themed one and I have a Tinkerbell themed one. And we each have two lanyards, LOL....actually 3, b/c we started with the Costco Travel lanyards from our package, which came with vertically aligned, hard plastic, felt-easy-to-tear-off pouches. Hated those so bought the cute pouches, then later hated the lanyards and bought one each. Then I found a Nightmare Before Xmas lanyard set for hubby at Yule, and bought myself a futuristic Disney Mickey lanyard.

Anyway, that's too much just to answer your question.

When we did our one-day trips we just put them in our pockets, but that required the constant patting of the pocket. With the lanyards, there is still patting, but the patting (and occasional looking down) is faster and doesn't require opening a pocket.

Dh carries all of ours in his lanyard. He tries to keep them together since he is our fastpass runner. And since we normally stay at DLH, the "key" won't get demagnetized by being near a credit card, etc...

There's a $10 coupon for bagsbuy.com, so if you get a baggallini there, it's only $21.50-ish with free shipping. Coupon code is save10.

Also, I LOVE my baggallini. It's the best bag for Disney trips!

THANKS so much DeserBell! I used that coupon code and ordered my Baggalini!!!

One of us had our plastic card holder come off on our last trip to DL. We all had brand-new lanyards we got w/ our pkg, so they weren't old or anything. Because of that, I'm too nervous to keep tickets in there.

My family and I all use lanyards to carry our tickets around. In fact, we all bought the little velcro wallets that have a key ring on it and attached that to our lanyard. It holds our tickets, ID, cc/debit card, all the fast passes and a little cash. None of us have ever lost a lanyard on a trip because we wear it all the time!

Yup, this happened to me, too. I have kept FastPasses in there, but not tickets. If I lose FastPasses, it's a pain. If I lose tickets, I'm out a bunch of money.

I always keep my AP and fastpases in the lanyard pouch that I bought at Disneyland. I've never had a problem. For whatever reason, I'm more worried about losing those and/or credit cards if I'm constantly pulling them out of my wallet than if I just keep them in the pouch, plus I like the quick and easy access to my AP and fastpasses.

Were those both the ones you got with a package? The really stiff plastic? That's what I had heard caused problems, easily snappable.

I got the softer plastic pouch for $4 at DL and it's never even threatened to pull off, FWIW.

Thats what we used too and they didn't even look like coming off so I am curious what sort you had so as to keep away from them in future.

One thing I did do on the more wild rides (BTMRR, Splash, Space and Indy) is pop the lanyard inside my shirt for those rides to avoid any chance of it getting blown off or wet. Might not be so easy for the ladys though:laughing:

Our kids are trained! As soon as they go through the gate, their tickets (well, and mine too, so I guess I'M trained too!) go right to DH, who puts them into his wallet.

This is what I use to carry my family's entrance media, all the FPs as well as my Disney Visa, id, room key and some cash. . .

Although they don't show it here, it goes around your neck on a lanyard, and has worked great for me for all my DLR trips over the last 5 years.

Which baggallini style do you use? I just looked them up online but there are so many choices...the ticket organizer, pocket bagg??? Just curious...

I use the messenger:

I love it because it has the pocket on the strap, a nice pocket that sits flat against your back, where I keep my wallet, safe from anyone's greedy fingers, and a TON of space. On our last Disney trip, I kept my camera in one of the side pockets and a bag of cough drops in the water bottle pocket. Plus, you don't have to take it off to get on rides, you can just slide it around and it fits right in the seat with you.

I actually bought my Disney buddy a baggallini today because I love mine so much!
