I was scrap booking last weekend and I was working on summer vacation. 2 weeks at WDW, another women was sitting at the next table and she was cropping her Disney pictures too.

She completed her entire vacation in 3sets of 2 page spreads...
I was amazed...she used only 3 pictures for the entire MK parade. I scrap an entire album with extra filler pages every year for my WDW vacation pictures.. why I had 2 sets of 2 page spread just for the kitchen sink at beaches and cream.. 1 for the anticipation, making of the dessert and the kid faces watching and the other was the eating and proudly showing the empty bowl.. i couldn't not use all the pic's, the look on my children's faces were so precious...

So I am the wierd one?????

DTD is lots of pages, the parks, OKW, I always have 2 pages and more each of the special meals.. Character meals get lots of pictures, Whispering Canyon, Boma's just too many wonderful picture opportunites., hidden mickey's... i don't scarp book all my pictures, lots get left behind... but when i done it is a large album.

How many pages do you scrap for your WDW vacation???
Anyway, the women kept looking at me like I was nuts!!!

So am i off wack?? or what?

I'm with you!! My WDW albums are always stuffed full and nothing else but that trip goes in there!
I think she's the one who's nuts because she didn't take enough pictures and didn't recognize the great "pages" in front of her at the time.

It is hard to say how my DIsney albums will be. We go every year so sometimes it does feel like repeated pictures. I know that must sound nuts. I take a ton of pics! Love them all and won't change that but when I scrap I am very selective. Granted It is an entire album just for the trip. But I might not have tons of pages for each event.
2 character layout (2 page)
parades 2 page
random pics, problably 2- 4 page spread for each park
That is how it is for most of the parks. So I probably do about 10 2 page spread for each park and the resort might be 2 2page spread.
A lot depends on the trip. Character meals is at least 2 page spread but could be 4....
I do think she was a wee bit skimpy with the pics but maybe they go a lot and she just wants to capture the essents of the trip.
I also then put all my extra pics in a pocket Disney album

Actually we are DVC and we go every year..some times I do my albums different from the prior year... but I alway emphasis the new and different.. each time one of the kids has a first..new places, new rides, etc...

anyway.. she said she hadn't been before and they went because of the FTP..

I am so enthralled with the buildings, the Parks, the rides, the flowers, statues, my kids as they change year to year..etc..
But then i believe that i live for the WDW trips and everything else is planning and anticipating the trips..

:Pinkbounc YA RIGHT!

EVERY vacation I have an album (dis and non dis)
My DIS albums busting at the seems - seriously! I also have 6 page spreads in EACH of the kids albums with 'just a few' duplicate pics of themselves!

You ARE NOT crazy!

nor is she -
we are all just different -
maybe she has an overflowing box at home that don't get scrapped -
or maybe she forgot to take pics...
or maybe she dropped her camera and broke it on the second day (I did that with my panoramic on the first day of our trip... good thing I had the digital, 3 underwater cameras and 6 disposables::yes:: ::yes::

OK so maybe I AM the crazy one - LOL

Sometimes....I wish I were one of them.

We have AP's and go twice a year...and I still have 12 rolls of film each time...even if it is only for a weekend.

I think I am the strange one....I crop every picture...but I don't want to miss anything.

A few years ago...we went to Disneyland three times in one year. The last trip we didn't take many pictures. It is making me crazy!!! I want those memories in my pages, and they aren't there.

Instead...I am making pages with nothing but journaling...go figure.

Of course....all this is what I love best about scrapbooking. We can all scrap just the way we want. It can be a six page trip or a six page spread...neither is wrong.

For my 2001 trip to WDW I wound up with 2 12x12 albums filled to the brim. On my trip coming up I'm going to try to scale down some and try to only get the best of this trip on film. Well at least that is what I hope happens.........................;)

Last year's trip was 2 full 12 x 12 albums by the time I finished. Not to mention a small photo album with 50 additional pics that were left over. Just love to scrap disney!

I have entire 12x12 book just devoted to disney

Well, it took me 3 2 page layouts (yes 6 12x12 pages) to scrap my DS eating his birthday cake on the Magic.

I cannot even imagine getting an entire vacation in 3 2 page layouts... LOL!!

I guess you could be crazy, but so am I. I am working on my first book(still have 4 more trips to scrap), I have 34 pages and I have only done our resort and part of magic kingdom. Most of mine are 2 page spreads, but I have a few 3 pages and one 6 page. I have already added post to make my book bigger. I am using 8.5x11 and wish I had started with 12x12. I do have several 12x12 albums standing by and can not wait to use them.

Call me crazy too.I have 2 albums from our first trip. I'm working on my third and fourth albums right now from our last two trips. Most are 3-4 pages per layou subject.

Ummmm.... she was the nutty one. :D (although I am the one that now has three 2 page layouts for halloween preparations... our decorations, kate's party at home, the costumes, etc.. I haven't even done the pumpkin patch pictures from this year yet and of course today we have the school party, the pumpkin carving, and trick or treating... I shudder to think how many more pages this year's halloween is going to be...)

But back to disney, I have an entire album on our cruise, and 2 or 3 on just disney vacations. I guess I just like to scrap EVERYTHING! :D to each his own eh? maggie

I recently finished a 100 page album for a two week Disney vacation back in 2000. I have five more trips to scrap! Maybe it won't be quite as big next time, but I am sure that I will fill an entire album for each vacation....my books...my money...my time...
my enjoyment!

I also do at least two family albums every year and I am currently working on 2002! I would really like to finish this by year end but it is highly unlikely! I am also working on an ALBUM (yes a
whole album) about CKU in CT in 2002. Just call me crazy!

Well I sometimes scrap lite - especially in my kid's albums. I usually pick & scrap just the very best pics and focus on what was important to them. So their album might have a 4 page vacation spread (with the pictures very different in each of their albums). Of course, my album has many more pages...

when My dd went it was 2 popping at the seams books amd it could have been bigger I also have a box full of extra stuff. That I plan to make cute and I almist forgot She has a autograph book too

I usually make one Album per trip because I save a ton of memorabilia and put that in the album as well. What do you all do with your memorabilia? Do you use it directly on the pages, or save it elsewhere? Here are some cute page titles I found from a link on this board. If you haven't seen them you will love them!

"It all started with a dream......"

"When you wish upon a star"

"Mouse Memories"

"Cast of characters"

"What a bunch of characters"

"Disney Dreamin"

"On our way to see the mouse!"

"Forever a princess"

"Character Meet and Greet" (you can add autographs on this page)

Have a great night!

I guess you all will call me nuts or tell me I don't know what I am missing, but I have never in my life done more than 3-4 2 page layouts for our Disney trips. Mostly bc I find the ones with page after page kind of boring, from the POV of looking at them later. Perhaps you & your families enjoy looking at all the details, but to me, they're like the old slide shows when I was a kid! LOL! I try to think about my audience when I scrap, and as often as not, it's someone outside my immediate family who does not need to re-live every minute. It's all a matter of personal taste, but I like to pick the very best pictures and put them together is some thematic way. This year, it's day by day. Some years, it's been all character driven...just depends.

Anyway, I take about a roll of film and another 50 or so digi images per day, so I have lots of pictures, but I don't scrap every last one.

mcnuss - you are right.. it all depends on who you consider the audience, current and future, to be. I am doing my books for me.. someday, I will be old and feeble sitting in the rocker, looking at my scrapbooks and reliving the fun Disney days., watching my children growing up and experiencing life. Also, it will be something to do, when I can't do much else...

I realize that at one point in time, I'll be gone and my children will be grown with kids of there own, and I hope that they will look back at the albums and relive the memories and want to create the same types of memories for their chldren and grandchildren.

Besides I am a detailed person and love taking pictures of my family doing things.

jiminy579 - thanks for the sayings..I believe I will use some when I crop next weekend. It's a good way to get a page started. I am looking today for the tickets to the Tampa Bay practices we went to this summer to put in the book by the pictures.

I put some of the memorabilia on the page, others in pocket pages. Stuff like the tickets will go on the page, fast passes, little stuff. i always put maps for each park from each trip in the pocket pages. it is fun to go back to years of WDW trips and look at the maps.

Guess I am a bit LOONEY:jumping1:
Probably not a lot of people have 12 years of park maps saved... Oh well...that's why there is 31 flavors of ice cream, some people like vanila , some like chocolate etc...:teeth: And i guess I am a bit NUTS..

Geffric!
You have no idea how wonderful that sounds! I really wish I had done that. In our earlier trips, I always cut out the maps, and actually mounted each section with the coordinating pictures. How fun it will be years down the road to take them out and look at them! I will have to start doing that! Thanks for the tip and have fun this upcoming weekend!!!
