I think that now that pools have fences it is easier to close them when they don't feel it's warm enough to justify staffing them.I have been there when they did not have lifeguards working the pools. Most recent was this past January, close to NYE. I haven't a clue what the temps were or how many days they closed but they did have signs out some of the days. So yeah, they do close the pools at least by the fact that they didn't staff them with lifeguards. I've been there 2 other times where they had signs up indicating no lifeguards on duty due to cold temps too.
Yep, this is the difference now. No lifeguard, no pool.
