I know my DD7 will be begging to wear her heelys in the parks when we are there in Nov. Are they allowed? I know some places are no longer allowing them.
Very good point and no matter what Disney says, I see kids with Heelys on all the time. They are actually banned in theme parks (among other places) by FL law...now, whether people respect that is another matter entirely.
Whenever I am working and see a child come into the park wearing Heelys I tell the parents they are not allowed and they must take the wheels out now. The wheels do come out by pushing (hard) to the side; you need a special key to get them back in.
I once had a family refuse and I called Security on them.
It was easiest this past winter when I was working as a Greeter at the Studio. Especially at times it was not crowded I would see kids skating along in the entrance plaze outside the turnstiles. Very easy to stop them.
WOW I guess I thought people who let their kids wear Heelys would be more carefull. My dd wears her heelys all the time with the wheels in but I guess she just knows better and always holds on to my hand when she rolls, if it's crowded.
Also, the wheels CAN'T be locked they can only be taken out. We have never been able to take them out without the tool BUT kids can still walk in the shoes with the wheels still in.
I will know not to have my dd wear them since it is against park policy. I don't want the evil stares
