Last month when my parents and I were at WDW on our 2nd visit to Ghirardelli's, the people sitting at the table next us tipped the employee who brought them their Ice Cream. In all the years we have been going there we have never seen anyone tip them, so I am wondering are the Ghirardelli's employees allowed to accept tips or are not allowed however this employee decided to take the money.

I do not know why there would be any rule against their being able to accept tips.

Someone who delivers food to your table and has to clean up your mess, is called the wait staff. Yes, we would tip them, why wouldn't we? Linda

I have never thought of tipping. They bring the ice cream and leave. I never see them again, they don't come back to ask how everything was. I just didn't think a tip was needed. I am usually a very big tipper. In this case I stand in line, take a number and wait, and am sent off to fend for myself as far as seating and such goes. I do not consider that a normal wait staff position. Usually wait staff at least come back and ask if everything is ok and fill up drinks. They usually drop the ice cream off and quickly leave, never to be seen again. I imagine they could accept one though CR, I just haven't. Like I said we usually over tip for service.

of course they're permitted to accept tips....
most people don't, but some people do...
we usually do....

I agree with you're statements and my parents and I also do not consider them a normal tiped position. Maybe if they were a little more nice and said how was the Ice Cream and etc, we would consider tipping them. Once they bring the Ice Cream they never say enjoy it, they just give it to you and walk right off with you're number.

If you want to tip, tip...if you don't, so be it...but the employees there can accept them.
