Just back and thinking of when to go next year. Thought after Thanksgiving would be nice but then thought that we'd be real stressed with having to get ready for Christmas as soon as we were back...Anyways just wondering how expensive flights are in Nov and if anyone would know when I should look into booking these flights (ie spring) we think we'd like to fly next year since we don't have to worry about tickets for the parks. Also what time in Nov can anyone suggest with regards to avoiding THanksgiving crowds we thought Nov 10-20 Thanks Kat ( when does thanksgiving fall next year)

I am going next week...booked flights for our group in September and got good fares (Delta and Southwest)...definitely check out Southwest's DING if your area is served by SW. Agree that avoiding T'giving is a great idea..Around Nov. 10 would probably still allow you to enjoy Food and Wine Festival but I am not sure of next year's dates. (Someone will probably also chime in about JERSEY WEEK/VETERAN'S DAY/SUPER SOAPS! But i still think early Nov. would be better than Thanksgiving...plus it should be warmer, too, but you never know!)

We are going the day after Thanksgiving, not before, but thought I would give you the rates we got. TERRIFIC deal of $29 each way on SWA with a ding. After taxes and fees, the round trip price is $74 a piece. We got 8 tickets for $599 :cool1: :cool1: !! This was the best savings of our whole trip. Keep watching the dings as you get closer to your time and I bet you can get a good rate too. That is if you are near a SWA airport. We are actually having to drive 3 hours to Raleigh to get this flight. No one closer has SWA. Thats okay though, beats 14 hours in a car with 4 kids!!!

I am going Nov. 19-25. And I bought our flight in Feb. I paid 217.40 each. I have never seen them any cheaper.

I just can not believe it is this close! :rotfl:

Ok here's how the airlines work they need to make so much money per flight so when they release a date price is low because they get your money and invest it sometimes as much as 3 or 4 months in advance. Then as the lower fairs fill up and time goes on they can't make money off your money so the price goes up.Then finally ( DING ) when the flights a really close and not filled they just want to get what they can to fill flights.
Most airlines are rated on filled seats per flight thats why they overbook knowing they can have a full flight and move standby's to a not so filled flight.
