Are first DINGS usually the best?

I just got the first DING fare for our dates and airports. It's $89 from Jackson to Orlando. That doesn't seem like any great deal to me, but I'm worried it won't get any lower.

I really don't want to book and try to get a credit later since we don't fly SW that often.

So are the first DINGs usually low, high, or somewhere in between? Should I wait or buy now? :confused3

Thanks!

I would jump on the DING if I were you.

I watch the DINGs daily from Houston. You are lucky if you even get a DING. :goodvibes

I watched Dings for the entire month and for me the Dings only got worse (at least as far as flights). I kept waiting and finally had to book an internet special fare to get the days I needed. I don't think the August Dings were that great and so far Sept is worse, but IMO you should just take them. SW is still cheaper than any other airline and most flights are non stop. Good Luck :thumbsup2

For our upcoming November trip, I think the internet specials will possibly be better than Dings, if the current ones are any indication of how the fares are going. :confused3
For our trip going, I got $59/OW, and yesterday, when they opened the booking window for our return, I got $84/OW. Both were internet specials, but lately the Dings have been runner higher from RDU-MCO.
I'm still keeping my fingers crossed, but IMHO, those great Dings in the $20s, $30s, and $40s, will just be fond memories. :sad2:

I agree, the Dings haven't been all that great lately. The internet specials aren't either, so if you get something you can live with, grab it.
