Are fast pass/+ lines longer than stand by?

We in the past have generally not used fast past to often. Just occasionally would we get a fast pass rather than just getting in line. Some may think that was just silly not to take advantage of them, however we have been many times so now we just go with the flow not racing across the parks just to get back to ride a certain ride. Also we noticed our last couple of trips that the fast pass lines were becoming quite a long wait rather than just walking right on. I am trying to decide if we want to just stick to what we have done in the past and not use the fast pass system.
How are the stand by lines wait time compared to the new fast pass+ lines wait times. Has the fast pass+ line increased the stand by wait times?

When we were there for NYE, Space FP+ line was out to COP. However, it moved quickly and once we got to scan our bands outside, we basically walked all the way to loading with maybe a 3 min wait inside. It was maybe 10 min outside and 3 in. SB line was over 2 hours.

We were there in December and found FP+ to be quick. Sometimes scanning issues arose and would cause a line back up but once the issue was taken care of the lines flowed, never a long wait. We too have never been all about the FP in the pass so I was reluctant to bother but it was worth it.

And OP, you might want to ask specifically if lines are longer since mid-January when they phased out legacy FP. The supposition is that scanning bracelets one at a time has slowed down the line. When legacy FP was still available, there were still lots of groups going through just showing a fanned out pile of FP tickets, which is faster.

Thanks for the replys. I will go ahead and make some fp+ reservation times. Just in case so we will be able to take advantage if we decide to.
