Are fanny packs allowed on the rides?

This is complete conjecture, but is it possible that the sling bag could be considered a strangling hazzard? If the strap got stuck behind you or tangled in the harness, it could be bad news. I'm going to try the fanny pack thing and see how it goes--the worst they can say is I have to put it in a locker, which is where I would be anyway!

Well, if that's the case, what about those straps people wear around their neck to hold their FOTL passes? Wouldn't that be a strangulation hazard as well? Speaking of those, how are they handled on this ride (and any other issues). I have a strap but for some reason the plastic case is missing on the bottom. Does anyone know where to obtain a new plastic case to hook onto it? (Weird question, I know, but I bet someone has had the issue in the past.)

What is a belly bag? Is it different than a fanny pack?

i would think a fanny pack is worn on the belly and a belly bag is worn on,,well you know,,,hahaha (aloways wonderd why its called a fanny pack to begin with.

They have no problem with the neck lanyards. I wore one several times when I was there this past Sept. It kept flying up, so I'd it stick down my blouse until just before the ride started, then pull it back out just before the ride ended. At Wal Mart you can get the lanyard with the plastic holder on the end for about .99. They're cheap, but work fine. In fact, I had a couple pf people ask me where I got mine. They have a little outside slip in pocket that holds your room key perfectly, making it very easy to just flash it for FOTLP.

What got me is that they allowed people to carry their loose sun glasses, flip flops, and even small cameras on the ride in their hands. Once when I rode it in Sept I was in a bench with three Japanese tourists, who snapped pictures several times during the ride. They were holding small digital cameras about the size of my Cannon Powershot Elph SD780. It didn't make sense to me that my little, flat, Vera Bradley cross body bag that would have been securely pinned to my side by the restraints was not allowed, but people holding cameras, sunglasses, and flip flops were not a problem.:confused3 although I too held my sunglasses in my hands both in Sept and again two weeks ago when I was there. It just didn't make sense to me that you were allowed to hold a camera or sunglasses, but not a wristlet that is actually attached to you.

I guess they have no control of what people take out of their pockets on the ride. They can only control what they see.

When we were boarding they had to see the sunglasses in my hand. I rode FJ multiple times every day I was there this past August 29th-Sept 4th and also several times when I was there two weeks ago. I had my sunglasses in my hand every time the CM checked the restraints. When I rode with the tourists who had their cameras, I noticed as we got on that they all three had them in their hands. I don't know if maybe there are not cameras inside the ride where CMs can see if anyone is taking pictures or not, but the CM loading us had to see those cameras. They made no effort to hide them.

I agree, it is pretty silly if they let you carry a camera but not a little bag. I'm sure they have a reason. It is also weird if they let you carry a camera but not a butterbeer mug.
