Are Expedia stopping 'room only'?

I have been looking at Expedia recently to get different prices for different times of year and noticed they seem to be doing far fewer of the on-site hotels. When they can offer rooms it seems more often than not to be with tickets included. Does anybody know if they are gradually phasing out the room only rate through Expedia?

When I first started researching DLRP for our first visit, you could only buy packages including tickets through Expedia. It's only the last couple of years that they have been selling room only. Perhaps Disney is tightening up on room only as they want more people to buy packages.

hi, this is concerning isn't it?

when i have tried to look at various dates the only hotel that ever seems available is santa fe.
also, when i put the number of adults as 2,3 or 4 it says that the rooms can't take that many adults when we know they can, it's quite annoying!

that coupled with CMs on the AP booking line who haven't heard of room only, i'm quite concerned!

Yes I had the same experience with Expedia a few days ago. I just couldn't get a 'room only' price for a DLRP hotel.

I don’t think that this is concerning. I think this is a very positive sign. (Not for us but for the company)

The number of visitors has risen in the last year from 12,? to 14,? Million visitors.
After so many years the company is very close to make real profit. And that means that the Disney hotels have a very good booking rate. That may be the answer why they don’t offer so many rooms to Expedia anymore. They need the rooms for visitors who want to book a longer stay.

And I think that does also mean that the chance to get a room upgrade will go down in the future. Because when the hotels have high booking rates they don’t have that much scope to give guests a better room than what they have paid for.
