Are envelopes available in rooms for mousekeeping tips?

That's pretty much my question ;) Or can you request them from the front desk? Thanks!

No, they are not in the room. I would bring some of your own with you :)

Yeah - bring your own as in my experience they are not provided. There are some cute envelope designs on the creative DISign board.

What we did back then was we brought our own envelopes and Disney stickers. We just write "To: Mouskeepers. Thank you!" ...and then we just put the stickers on it. Simple. :) Then we would put it on the ledge above the sink or on the counter sink.

They don't provide envelopes, but you don't need to have an envelope to leave a tip. There's usually a notepad in the room, I just rip off a piece of paper, fold it around the money and write "For housekeeping - thank you!" on it.

I used to just leave the money on the nightstand, or by the sink, but it sometimes wouldn't be taken. Then I figured out that they housekeeper would be concerned that they'd be accused of theft if they just picked up money in the room, so I started leaving a note with it.

I had envelopes in my room at the Poly, but from the responses here, it doesn't look like you can count on that.

That is what we do. We use the notepad to thank mousekeeping and put the tip under the message. Never failed.

We are another notepad user and it works perfectly. Our tip is taken and we usually get a "thank you" reply.

Hmmm, I saw the thread about making your own envelope. I would like to do that, but I'm not really crafty :( and I'm not that good with a printer either. It sounds like you put the envelope in your printer and then print the image on to the envelopes? That's kind of a scary proposition for me :scratchin

I can't think why printing something would be scary, but whatever. If you don't want to do it then either just take plain envelopes, or use stickers on plain envelopes, or as some of the other PPs recommended- just use the provided note paper to leave a note with the money.

Another for just use the notepad. We've done this for years and never had a problem with mousekeeping not seeing and taking our tip. No need for envelopes, just one less thing to worry about for us. Also, I also keep a little notepad in my suitcase at all times anyway to use.

Enjoy The Magic!!

Same here, notepad, just write "Thanks!", and it's always gone. :)

i don't mean terrified ;) Bad choice of words. Maybe a little nervous. I have tried to print envelopes with labels on them years ago and didn't have much luck. I would love to do something a little special. Does mouseforless have instructions on how to print envelopes?

If not, I can go with the other suggestion of the note pad as it does seem less scary ;)

Speaking of tipping..what is the normal tipping on mousekeepers..i figured $5 a day..2 adults n 1 5 year old

Thant's what we tip!

By the way, we've never used envelopes, just usually a note with the money on top. Sometimes the housekeeper has left a signed note, so we'll just use that with a thank you.

:goodvibes

that does sound easy enough. I'll see about printing the envelopes, but if that doesn't work, I will just leave a note :thumbsup2

We usually tip $3-$5/night depending on the state of the room. It's just DH & I and we're pretty tidy in the hotel room, but if we leave things a little messier or if housekeeping has added to the magic then we'll leave $5 (or if we don't have enough $1's).

We never use envelopes. We leave the money on the desk or the dresser with a thank you note - we just use the notepad by the phone for the note.
