Are dogs allowed in the FW Cabins?

My money is on Disney will start letting pet in there hotels. For years no pet at the fort then in the 90’s started letting pets in four loops for a $5.00 a day charge. Now all but 2 loops pet loops and you still have to pay $5 a day and they added a pet park and you now can take your pet on the golf carts. Disney is starting to get with the times people travel with their pets

i did not realize that FW only had two non-pet loops in the campground.

But even though, the pets in FW are staying in their owners RVs, not in a facility that Disney has an obligation to keep clean. If there is some cleaning of the campsite required that will be quicker than cleaning up a hotel room or other living arrangement. You don't have to worry about dander, etc outside.

I still think that Disney will not allow pets in their hotel rooms. Especially at AKL. I think this new kennel is Disney's attempt to appease people who travel with their pets. I will not stay in a hotel that allows dogs, due to my and DS's allergies to dogs, as I stated previously I love dogs, so I hate the fact I can never own one, so don't flame me as being an animal hater.

You may stay in a hotel now that pets have stayed in people sneak pets in into their room all the time. After spending a little time at the fort we did see pets in the cabins. The only none pet loops now are 100 & 200 and as i been told the hole camper ground will be pet loops soon

After reading this, I called the front desk at Ft W to see if the 1500 Loop now accepts pets... because as far as I know it's always been a "pet free" loop. I was told that 1500 does not allow pets. (They want to be notified if any pets are spotted on that loop/ and will enforce the rule).
I didn't ask about any other loops though.

When we stayed in the 100 loop in April, there were at least 3 dogs in our loop. Disney Security drove by many times and didn't say anything, so I am assuming that Disney has backed off of the pet rules.

The bad thing is that my son and I are very allergic to certain pet fur, and we made this clear when we checked in. But the 3 dogs near us were very quiet and stayed on their own site, so it didn't really concern us.

Hotel rooms are a different story. Unattended pets in hotel rooms or cabins can cause great damage because they are bored. And since that damage caused will be to Disney's rooms and not to a private camper, I don't think that you"ll see Disney allowing pets in hotel rooms anytime soon. At least on any large scale. Especially since they are building that large "pet resort" across from Port Orleans to get your money.

Hate to tell you when we had 9 cabins and 6 camp sites Disney let our 8 pets stay in all locations

It's rather inconsiderate to endanger the health and safety of others just to bring your pet where it doesn't belong.

Disney should just shoot all the wildlife around the fort. There's a chance a bunny rabbit or deer hair might be at large in the air. Why in the world if you're that allergic would you want to be out where pollen is in the wilderness? There's a nice place called Grand Floridian. They even have a cement pond and they don't let trashy campers from the fort over there to pollute the place.

Stacktester do you think you'd still feel that way if Your daughter had an allergy to dogs? Or would you still want her to be able to enjoy Ft Wilderness and grow up experiencing all that it has to offer? (By the way, just because someone is allergic to dogs/ cats; doesn't mean they're allergic to the out-of-doors or pollen).

The funny thing is with people with allergy is to be around the thing that bother them. Just like the allergy shots they will start getting use to it

Perhaps exposure (via allergy shots) is the "cure" for some environmental allergies; however exposure to specific allergens can cause sudden swelling of the throat and lead to death within a few minutes - that's why people need to know if a place is safe for them or not.

Well you better start exposure your kids to pets because lot of people have pets and at one point they will come in contact with it them if they you like it or not

I'm just sayin, the fort has a lot of dogs around and the hair is on the guests clothes in the pool area as well as other common areas. I'm sure when the cabins are cleaned the hair from a dog is vacuumed up. Indoor air quality no matter if a dog is present or not is typically crappy. Unless the air filters are changed very regularly you're going to have dander.

I can only speak for myself and our situation. Our allergies are NOT life threatening but very uncomfortable. We all take medicine to address the everyday exposures to a passing dog or cat. It's the long term exposure to pet fur that affects us. Thats why we bought a motorhome. because we can control our own evironment. And that is why we camp at Fort Wilderness. Your jokes about killing all of the wildlife at the Fort were disrespectful, insensitive, and pretty stupid.

Also, Allergy shots are only effective about 50 % of the time. and they only reduce some allergies, they don't eliminate them for most people. Take that from a person that took 3 allergy shots every Tuesday for 3 years. They only reduced some of my allergies and didn't eliminate any of them.

Why do some pet owners feel that they have the right to bring their pets in hotel rooms, (without prior approval) when there are rules against them. Aren't you a guest on someone elses property? Shouldn't you respect their rules?

Of course, recently I found out my husband is part werewolf. This has put a damper on our plans as we will be visiting Disney during a full moon. I am packing a drain hair catcher to prevent clogs.
